Commish...900 teams |
|
|
| Commish I been looking at some of the 900 ID teams and it is same with other low ID #'s they are born late and there # throws it off. I am sure alot of people with low ID #'s 10k down, Would like the advantage a low ID # gives. Example, I have team 4401 yet I am placed between 120k teams a 4k team with 120k teams just not right. Can we change this? =/ |

| im not sure, im probably wrong but i think he means, like for example my signature, my teams ids are 117034 and 133779, if u click one of the links, its says at the end of url, team id=88965 or something like that when their id is 117034. if u look at some of the low id teams. it says they were born like 2 days ago for example and their team id is like 3304, but when u look at their url it says like team id 101934. |

I think he means his pro league ranking. With the same number of wins, his team 4401 is placed between 2 120k+ teams. He thinks he should rank higher than the 120k+ teams.

Blah on you gunner I was trying to watch tv and think you know how hard that is. Any ways, Yes I ment the PL ranking when the new 900 ID teams get up to PL there going to be ranked down there with like 130-140k teams. I am pretty sure alot of people wanted the 900 ID team for fact it has a low ID #. What good is a low ID # if your stuck with 120k+ teams? And CJ how commish gona read this if you moved it. Any ways think anyone can give an opinion on this? |

I didn't move squat Jack. I just stated the obvious...a complaint...which this is...should go in the complaint forum. Why have all the different forums if they are not used right? |

Looks like it has changed to me. |
|
|
I think the sort criteria for the Pro Leagues needs to be posted again. I think it was posted at the time it was changed but I can't find it.
The way I thought it was supposed to be is:
- At the end of the previous season all teams, moving up or down a league, were sorted lowest ID to highest ID. Top to bottom.
- If you stay in the league you fall in where you finished for the next season.
- If, at the end of the current season, several teams have the same number of wins:
- The teams that moved down from last season have the advantage over lower id teams that moved down with them, and all other teams.
- The team that stayed in the same league have advantage over teams they placed higher than last season in the current league, and all teams that moved up.
- The teams that moved up from last season have the advantage over only lower ID teams that moved up with them.
This is not what it looks like is going on now. Could we please have it explained again if I am wrong. Or looked into if I am right.

PL sorting |
|
|
- You sort by you Win/Loss %
- Ties in W/L% are broken by the POSITION you had LAST season.
- IF two teams who are tie, both came up, or down from another league level, then the Owner ID is used to resolve a tie.
In that last instance the 900 teams do have the advantage.
Is it not working this way? Maybe we have a bug!? _________________ For Customer Care please email: Support@SmallBall.org |

The lower ID part doesn't seem to be working in the case of #4401 in the eighth league from what I can tell.
That's the only one I looked at. Not sure about the rest.

Sorry Tim, i was trying to be short and clear and I missed something:
When teams come up or down from another league level, AND THEIR W/L is tie, THEN the id is used.
and as you will see that is how it worked out in the case of 4401
Sorry I left out that critical point the last time _________________ For Customer Care please email: Support@SmallBall.org |

Like Tim said, it isn't working like that. In Tim's case "4401" is the common ID that we all use to talk about the team and login. The web pages use another ID. 4401's server ID is 94490 (the number that goes after the ?tid= in the team web page URL). 4401 is ranked after 122592(server ID 93408) with the same winning percentage when I posted this.
The same is true for all the 900 Club teams who have ID's starting in the high 130,000's. _________________ JD

It seems to me that while it may be unintentional, it actually works better. The server ID is reset when a team is brought back. The concept of a lower ID getting the advantage makes sense to me if that team was created earlier. In the case of 4401, the team was esssentialy reborn on 8/12/2002. Team 122592 was born on 8/8/02. The reality of it is, 122592 is the older team. |

It may not be fair, but how else is it going to work???...If you have a high ID that just gives you more incentive to BEAT as many teams as you can...beside, seniority should count for something (I have two very high ID's so I'm not really being defensive)...The only tie-breaking aspect that I would change is in the 1st league (please correct me if this is already the case)...Since everyone plays each other twice the tie breaker after W/L should be head-to-head W/L, then head-to-head runs scored...just a suggestion |

I'm not worried about fairness. Someone will have an advantage no matter how its done.
I also don't really care about the reborn teams. I don't know of any promises that were made to the owners of the reborn teams.
I do know that the 900 Club teams were advertised as "low ID" teams. They are not acting like that now. You can see the same evidence of that on the Top 100 lists. _________________ JD
