....how much the ST sucks...LOL

My 8* ST team has been trained every day in the best way that I know how. I open the DT, check things out and realize how much they suck! The only bright spot was my pitcher who was throwing 108 and only needed 6 points to max out. Then again, what do you expect for free. Why do I even have an ST team!?!?! LOL Confused

Cheers

Did you let them have a full pie? I did and I'm gonna have them do that every friday.

Oh man....and I found out that my right fielder couldn't throw more than 100ft....it was sad. lol

One of the things I think is a great benefit about the DT fridays for ST trainers arent so much the skills that are easily achieved. Although the DT allows you to see better what your players are doing. In my eyes, the best thing about it is the simplicity added to your training.

With ST training in running is very tedious and training in Batting skill is very hard to achieve or at very least to recognize. Usually when training in batting with ST you will see power gains and contact but rarely see skill gains. With the Free ST Fridays you can see for yourself how good DT is and then decide if it is worth it to you to buy. I would say yes.

Also what you can do is use that time to train in those specific skills that you cannot see in ST. Train in running or train in batting skill. This accompanied with your regular ST training and you will see noticeable results very soon.

Just becasue he hits the ball everytime doesnt make him a good hitter. Its a start but if he hits every pitch but it just goes in the air for an out then he will have a low percentage. You need to get him to hit on the ground and in the gaps. Power and contact isnt enough, you need skill.

I completely agree. I used most of my pie on whatever hitting problems that each player had. The focused batting skills are the hardest to get in the ST and so those are the things I'm gonna focus on with the Free Fridays. I now know that my pitcher is adequately trained with the ST and while running is tedious, it's really not all that hard in the ST. I say go with the batting focus for the most part. I might try to split the full pies next week to see what I can gain that way.

I think that the DT is VERY worth it and would get one for this team if I didn't already have 3 DT teams to worry about...lol I just kinda like the challenge of training this team with just the ST. See how far I can get them for free.

I somehow have a few good batters. I have at least 5 guys that have had a homer and two that are consistent with it. My top throwers were hitting the end line (170 ft?)I usually train batting every second day with the ST but when I'm occupied in other ways, I sometimes train them in bat 2 days in a row. (it's easy to train)

Cheers

A agree its not hard but it is time consuming, especially if you are training 3 or 4 ST teams. I was training 7 of them at one point in time, I have 4 DT's now and 5 ST teams. None of the St teams are being trained because it took so long to train them all each day.

my top thrower was my pitcher. he was consistently hitting 170 and above. my left fielder was also pretty high. i have only 1 hr hitter, but today 2 other guys hit homeruns. same here im gonna focus on splitting hitting and running on fridays from now on. Wink

If you only get 1 shot a week, do power and/or throwing.

Why throwing and power? Throwing is easy in ST......When I switched to DT from St my guys were throwing 160+ and power is a skill you gain constantly in ST. I still think running and batting skill are the best to go with. Running is easy but its tedious as hell and skill is terrible to aquire.

I think I have to agree with you Nmshooter. Training anything other than running or batting skill is a waste of the free DT. Why train skills like throwing when you can do that in the ST during the rest of the week. I will most likely be training running in the free DT until I decide to break down and buy it for my ST team.

im not sure if u were talking to me or thesafo but anyways, friday was hitting practice, since i didn't train thursday, i bat practiced then ran. after everyone used up their pies i put them all in the throwing venue to see where they were at in there. free dt for one day to use on my st team, i wasn't gonna let that go to waste.
