SEC week 12 (possible spoilers) |
|
|
West Carolina @ Florida
Middle Tennessee @ South Carolina
Tennessee @ Vanderbilt
La Monroe @ Kentucky
Arkansas @ Mississippi State
Auburn @ Alabama
Mississippi @ LSU
Florida - give me a break, how can I not pick the Gators? 45-10
South Carolina - USC has had several heartbreaking loses.. expect them to take it out on MTSU, 38-7
Vanderbilt - On paper Vandy SHOULD stand a very real chance of making it two in a row over UT. 24-23
Kentucky - Expect some hangover by UK. They became Bowl eligible last week, and may not show up this weekend, 28-24
Arkansas - Your SEC Champions to-be will have MSU beaten by half time, 38-10
Alabama - AU's offense isnt going to just start clicking against a good Bama defense. However, The Tide offense will have problems too keeping it close, 10-7
LSU - Poor, poor Ole Miss..maybe we should trade them for Southern Mississippi or Temple 45-6 _________________ http://sbdevils.com/forum/ and http://smallball.info The only forums you'll ever need. |

I think a blind mouse could pick this one. Florida (47-7)
Spurrier can't win a close one, but I don't think I'll be that close. USC (34-13)
Tennessee has a much better offense, Vandy has a much worse defense. Tennessee is coming off a loss and doesn't want to lose two in row to Vandy. Vandy probably will be bummed a bit from their loss against Kentucky. I can't see why Tennessee won't win this one, but I don't think they will. Vandy (24-23)
La-Monroe probably has a better team, but don't tell Kentucky that this week. Kentucky (37-27)
This will be like a bumble bee trying to stop a train. Arkansas (38-6)
I can't find a good reason to pick Alabama in this game. They are getting beat at the line on both sides of the ball (same with Auburn now though). The play calling has been bad. They refuse to start the better back (Johns) over the ineffective one (Darby). They couldn't score a TD in the redzone if you blindfolded the defense and tied their shoe laces together. They can't protect the QB and they can't get to the opponent's QB. I just have feeling about this one though. Alabama (9-6)
Mississippi will find that LSU should not have lost two games this year. LSU (33-3) _________________ SB Devils |

West Carolina @ Florida-Who?
Middle Tennessee @ South Carolina-Newton pads some stats.
Tennessee @ Vanderbilt-Tennessee squeaks by on a late field goal.
La Monroe @ Kentucky-Kentucky's running on a high from becoming bowl eligible. They cruise into next week where they upset UT.
Arkansas @ Mississippi State-McFadden for Heisman. Nuff said.
Auburn @ Alabama-Shula's gotta grow a pair for this game and he knows that. I think he's gonna pull out all the stops for this game. I saw that onside kick against LSU last week and went crazy. Thats the type of football we gotta play right now. The line protected well, but what we are gonna need is to SHAKE COX UP! Castille and Co. need to get some picks and the line needs to get to Cox and rattle his cage.
Mississippi @ LSU -Close in first half, Russel opens it up in second half for a comfortable win. _________________

Newton was playing DB not QB against Florida last week. I don't even think he's even the backup QB anymore. Mitchell will likely start again this week for USC.

I was thinking that Shula has to be worrying about fan reaction toward his coaching after seeing that onside kick. It's about time he realised that his same old game plan isn't working nor going to work. Now, if they'd just start Johns, open the playbook some and find a way to buy Wilson more time (since the O-line can't protect him), they might end the season with a couple wins. _________________ SB Devils |

Yeah, Johns is a beast, no way around. Only reason I could see is he is still not strong on his pass blocking. Something I have seen that I liked is that we have started running outside sweeps, and more off-tackles. No more of the RB dive up the middle, we are finally looking to the outside for running. I like we had a split backfield a few times last week too. Johns-Darby split backfield would be scary. Not to look ahead but man our backfield is gonna be stacked next year. Terry Grant (standout freshman), Roy Upchurch, Glen Coffee, Jimmy Johns, Ali Sharief. And JPW, I am pumped as ANYTHING about his future. He's gonna set alot of records and be a leader for this team. JPW has shown me ALOT this year. _________________

Vandy won last year...last time they won before that was 1982...only another 23 years before they notch a W against us . Auburn played terrible last week, but Bama has played terrible for most of the season but I wont count them out in this rivalry. Oh and...Michigan over Ohio State! _________________

Pass blocking doesn't seem to matter since nobody looks to be doing much of it. Besides, Le'Ron McClain is a much better blocker and averages more yards a carry than Darby. Wilson has to be one of the toughest QBs I've ever seen. He's been hit about as many times this year as Croyle was last year, and he's not been injured near as much. I can't even tell he's just a sophomore anymore. He will set the record this year for passing yards in a season for an Alabama QB, barring some kind of disaster. Alabama is always loaded at RB. They really should think about throwing in some kind of WV or Air Force type option with Johns at QB at times next season. They will definately have backs to do it. I don't know if we'll ever see anything exciting about the offense with Shula there though. _________________ SB Devils |

5-2 this week.
Vandy laid an egg vs the Vols (as usual) and Aubrun got a few key turnovers to win the Iron Bowl (one pick I am GLAD I got wrong)
5 Wins in a row over Bama for my Tiers now..
44-16 to finish the regular season _________________ http://sbdevils.com/forum/ and http://smallball.info The only forums you'll ever need. |
