I just can't see Michigan stopping Ohio State's offense. Too balanced and too fast. This man will not have it.

I cant really choose a clear winner here. Both teams play great football. I would liek to see Michigan win but i expect it to be a 3-7 point game either way. I bet you will see this Sunday more on ESPN Classic though. _________________ "NOT GOING DOWN UNTIL THE SHIP GOES DOWN!"

Even as biased as I am, I still believe that Ohio State will pull this game out by 10 pts or more.
Also, it's at "The Shoe" which will only make it harder for Michigan to pull out a victory.

This should be a really good game.....or it could be a really ugly game. If either teams QB has an off day you could see a blowout IMO. Each team's Defense is capable of causing turnovers, but OSU has an edge in the, but UM has a better yardage stopping D.
Question for all: Which team do you think has more pressure? OSU with all the expectations coming into the year, and to keep hopes alive? Or UM and Llyod Carr, trying to reverse the Tressel and Troy Smith era, and coming all the way back from last year's dissapointing season? Because I honsetly think that even with Carr's success, all good coaching eras come to an end, and with the recent renditions of this game, Carr could have a short leash.
All things considered Look at the sig to see what I think
Prediction to come later. _________________

You were correct when you said "Also, it's at "The Shoe" which will only make it harder for Michigan to pull out a victory." Ohio State and Michigan will be one heck of a game but I believe i'm going to be a "believer" about Michigan. MICH-24 at OHST-21 Go ahead call me crazy. The score might not be correct but It will be very close! |

Hopefully it will be a good game but it doesn't matter to me who wins. As long as there isn't a rematch for the national championship. _________________

Lets just remember one thing before everyone jumps on the Ohio State bandwagon too fast.. If Michigan wasn't a really good team, they wouldn't be #2 and undefeated right now.
I'm not saying Michigan will win, but to say OSU will without a shadow of a doubt isn't very wise..
I cant tell you who will win, but I can tell you I think the final score will be within 7 points.. a 1 score game all the way. _________________ http://sbdevils.com/forum/ and http://smallball.info The only forums you'll ever need. |

That's not entirely true, Beaner. In all likelihood, Boise St. won't play for the national championship because they're in the WAC (i.e. non-BCS conference). If Rutgers goes undefeated (not a given with West Virginia, but definately possible) they, along with the OSU/Michigan winner, and possibly Boise St. will be undefeated. Some computer polls have the Scarlet Knights at #2 ahead of Ohio State. In addition to that since they play in the Big East (BCS conference) they have more right than any other 1-loss team under the current system in my (correct*) opinion.
Rutgers is definately the surprise team of the year and it's is total BS that they won't get a legitimate shot at the title game unless the 1-loss teams ahead of them in the BCS polls (Florida, USC, etc.) lose again. I'm pullin' for the Scarlet Knights and waiting to see what kind of excuses the BCS pulls out of its nether-regions keeping another undefeated team out of the title game. _________________

Today's the day, Michagan vs. Ohio State
I said that I'm taking ohio state but Bo's death is really going to encourage Michagan today, it might be a close game _________________ Aziz - Merry Christmas

I agree that that would suck.
Too bad Rutgers can't play Boise State for the championship. |
If it's a good game, I'd love to see a rematch.
If Ohio State wins a close game at home, Michigan should get another shot at a nuetral site.
I think it'll come down to the final minutes. If they can put on a good show, I think we should get to see it again in the Championship. |

kind of late to post my winner but here it is.
Michigan. Not much to explain... Michigan will pound the Ohio State defense and Ohio State will give up a costly turn-over late in the game to lose it in a close one. 27-20. _________________

What a game.
I'd like to see Rutgers against (the winner, since there's no spoiler tag I won't mention the winner in this post) but I think the Rose Bowl may be a rematch with these two teams again... (Pending USC tonight too)
First college football game I've watched all year and it was definetely worth the Saturday afternoon. _________________ XsT | TA# 1.1 | -.- | XXI | $2856.82 (10/27)

That was one heck of a game. Michigan kept it close, but Ohio State was in control virtually the entire game. Ohio State is virtually undisputed as the #1 team in the country. My hat goes of to the Buckeyes and I send out congratulations on making it to the Championship Game. Now to see who will play them in Glendale. (psst....it's Rutgers)
If Rutgers wins out they are (and should be) #2. Doesn't matter if USC wins out. Doesn't matter if Florida wins out (great job smokin' a crappy 1-AA team by the way. Maybe challenge yourselves next year with a D-II school next year). Doesn't matter if Arkansas wins out. The record says it all.
OSU's national title opponent begins with an 'R' and ends in an 'utgers.' _________________

As nice as it would be to play Rutgers....not gonna happen. Why? Look at the score of their game now. WHo knows who it will be, but personally, I don't care much. Should be interesting.

OH YEA! Big Ten Champs and going to the BIG Dance.
I gotta admit, anytime My Buckeyes play Michigan, I'm nervous. They play each other very hard no matter how good, or how bad the other team is. With Bo's passing. (rest his soul) I really felt Michigan would win on sheer emotion alone. My hats off to Jim Tressel. What a stud of a coach. Troy Smith is this years Vince Young. <<<<<that speaks volumes.
Maybe Michigan can have Rutgirls.....I want a real team. Can you imagine the headlines after that game. Ohio State beats Rutgers by 60.......Is this the for real NC game. I really dont want to face that music. Give me a proven hardcore team to play and I'm happy win or lose. The game that counted to me was tonight.
I'm not really disrespecting Rutgers. I know nothing about them. They had a semi tough schedule. Just not NC game material. Nor was W. Virginia. _________________ "The desire to be a champion is not nearly as persuasive as the commitment to be a champion" |

For the love of being an Ohio State fan, PLEASE do not compare Troy Smith to this years Vince Young. Troy Smith is nothing like VY...VY was a great athlete over a great QB. He made a lot more plays with his legs than with his arm. Troy Smith on the other hand, completely understands the QB position, and realizes that he needs to make plays with his arm. He has displayed that with ease this season, and will win the heisman. Him and Vince are both great players, but please do not say that Troy Smith is this years VY. They are not the same type of player. _________________ Sup cuties

Have you watched Rutgers or West Virginia this year?
And LOL At Mike Hart. Your defense ain't too special either, bud. OSU kept them in the game with two stupid bad snaps and a deflected INT. What a tool. _________________

Yes I have seen them both play. Do you think I live under a rock? Neither of them are in the same league as OSU, Michigan, USC or Notre Dame.
I dont appreciate the "tool" comment. Again I wasnt born under a rock. Dont disrespect me on a public forum ever. You have a problem with me. Take it to PM. Say what ever you want there. Uh, I don't have a problem with you, the tool comment was to Mike Hart. Did you hear what he said after the game?
I think OSU and Michigan are the two best teams, but I think WVU could take USC or ND(not saying they would win, but they definitely could). USC and ND haven't really impressed me at all this year. WVU's defense is extremely questionable, but their offense can run with anyone. _________________

Depending on tonight, I PRAY TO GOD that they don't have a rematch for the National Championship. The winner of Cal vs USC and then USC, Notre Dame should go to the Championship.
For example, if USC beats Cal, but loses to ND, then I believe ND should go to the NC. If USC loses to Cal, but beats ND, then Cal should go-- and finally if USC wins out, they should go. Hat's off to Rutgers, but they won't be able to shake their label as a "sub-par" team. Their win vs Louisville was legit, but their Defense is extremely weak (IMO).
As for tonight's game---I'M STOKED!!! I have to say that for a second, I felt another '05 Texas game happening(i.e, blowing an 11 point lead), but hat's off to Massillon Native Shawn Crable for preserving our drive.
I really wouldn't blame OSU as a whole for the turnovers. The INT was right off the WR's hands, and both fumbles were the Center's fault. Michigan is an explosive team (see that first drive) and OSU played the usual "bend but don't break" game that they usually did. Hat's off to Michigan, but boy this one felt good. |

I suppose. He said he knew they'd be able to run all over OSU, and they're not anything special and if they get another chance they'd win. Hart is always portrayed as a "good guy, good sport" type, but what a loser. _________________

Bigdog I hate to tell you but....WVU is the real deal! We have the best offense, but unfortually we have a sub-par defense. We did however shutout Pittsburg in the second-half and their not that bad of an offense!
We are as good as anyteam on offense and on defense we can have good game games. I guess i'm the only one that respects Rutgers. We are still going to beat them though!
BTW, congrats to everyone that likes OHST including you Bigdog(even though you don't believe that WVU is "NC game material." |

I would say as far as Buckeye fans are concerned, Troy Smith has earned legendary status amoung the great players that have played at Ohio State. I believe he became only the second QB at OSU to beat Michigan 3 times. I heard the comment that Mike Hart made after the game. I didn't read much into it. I think it was a heat of the moment comment. The guy is a true warrior and fights for every inch he gets. He has no quit in him. In his mind he can't accept any thing less than a win. Any coach would love to have a team made up of players who think like that. Both teams study each other from the start of the season to the end and know each other very well. They both pull out all the stops for this game. I said all week long to my friends at work, that I thought it was going to be a high scoring game. The two best teams in the country played tonight. Michigan had their chance to play for the national championship and lost. So my feelings are someone else should face Ohio State in the NC game. No do-over's or rematch. _________________

I think that the media and everyone is only looking at the score, and not realizing that it wasn't as close as the 42-39 score is.
First of all, the turnover margin was +3 for Michigan..So they clearly had their chances. Second of all to go along with those turnovers, 1 of them was just a lucky bounce off a tipped pass, another 1 was a bad snap that they gained great field position out of and only managed to get a FG, and the last was another bad snap while OSU was driving deep inside Michigan territory. So that right there is what made the game closer than it ever should have been. I also feel had Michigan not drove down and scored at the end when it was pretty much over, no one would be saying its close. Look at it as a 42-31 score and no one would be wanting a rematch..but because they got the TD at the end its all of the sudden such a close game and they deserve another chance. Not so fast IMO _________________ Sup cuties

Sorry if I offended you Zach. I am a firm believer that Defence wins championships. That said i just dont feel like WV or Rutgers can hang with the top 4 teams right now. I really dont think I am wrong. This is a great reason why College Football should have a playoff system. I and many, many others could be proven wrong. _________________ "The desire to be a champion is not nearly as persuasive as the commitment to be a champion" |

I agree with you on the point that defence does win championships which OHST definitely has defence even though they allowed 39 points. WVU's offence is the best in the country by far in my opinion. When Pat White has to throw it he can throw it when he has to run an option or run it himself he does. Steve Slaton is the best running back in my opinion and should finish 3rd in the hiesman. WVU's defence is around average but show flashes of promise once in a while..... Saying that in my opinion OHST is the best team in the nation and MICH is the 2nd best. WVU should challenge for the national championship I believe but, it won't happen. I too agree that we should have a playoff system so we will have no controversy but, it will never happen 'cause these schools and the NCAA get lot of money from these bowlgames. BTW, you didn't offend me or anything I just sometimes go overboard about WVU...I am just too much of a fan. |

OSU's national title opponent begins with an 'R' and ends in an 'utgers.' |
Oh, I think Florida has challenged themselves all year. Tennessee, LSU, Auburn, Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida State? OSU and Michigan don't have that kind of skilled opponents.
Rutgers lost to Cincy. They're through. _________________ Quote of the Week:

But Florida has to play those teams, they are on their schedule every year. It just looks bad when you schedule 1AA or D-II schools in NC games. You can make the arguement of how tough their schedule is, but still playing non-D-I schools will kill your SOS points in the BCS.
Also, I could really care less who OSU plays in the N.C. game, because to me they all look like the same game. Can the opposing team score enough points to keep up. After watching OSU shread UM's D, it just opened my eyes as to what could really be done(There could have been 60, if not for stupid mistakes). Also, the opposing team must have good lines on both sides, with balance...balance is the key. _________________
