Well, Well, Well.. how the mighty have fallen today!
Auburn gets steamrolled by Georgia 37-15
Arizona upsets California 24-20
Kansas State takes out Texas 45-42
Thoughts on the above games?
Auburn, Texas, and Cal all losing opens the BCS Title game up for teams like USC and Florida (who barely escaped South Carolina today, 17-16)
Actually.. today's games have me wondering.. coul dwe see OSU - Michigan in the BCS Title game as a rematch of their regular season showdown next week? Its the BCS, and stranger things have happened! _________________ http://sbdevils.com/forum/ and http://smallball.info The only forums you'll ever need. |

I swear... Every year, somehow, the BCS seems to escape total disaster by the skin of its teeth. Is there any chance it's actually getting things right and that's why it usually seems to work out? _________________

Winner of USC and ND game, if they win out for the season, plays winner of next weeks big game. Arkansas can play for it, but they have to win big the rest of the season.
Rutgers gets in top 10...
Wake Forest moves on up in the polls... _________________

No
LOL!
Pure luck.. flat out.. what are the odds that all three 1-loss teams would lose onthe same weekend? The system keeps on getting lucky.. I just cant wait to see what happens if..
Rutgers/Boise State/OSU/Mich winner finish unbeaten, with Florida/Notre Dame-USC winner/OSU/Mich loser finishing with 1 loss.. who gets that #2 spot? Rutgers? or a 1 loss team over Rutgers.. possible OSU/Michigan rematch?
It doesnt matter.. something tells me one way or another.. someone is going to get screwed again by the BCS lol _________________ http://sbdevils.com/forum/ and http://smallball.info The only forums you'll ever need. |

If Rutgers goes undefeated they should be in the title game
Everyoen was putting Louisville in the title game after they beat WVU . if Rutgers beats both WVU and Louisville they deserve it over a 1 loss team _________________ Season 69 PL 1 Football Champion 56882 LCD Dynasty

That was one of the craziest days I have seen in College football. I cant wait to see the rankings. My best guess is that if both ND and USC win out until that matchup the winner of that game will be a #2 after the Michigan/ND game. _________________ "NOT GOING DOWN UNTIL THE SHIP GOES DOWN!"

i hate to say this, cause Rutgers is awesome, but i think that the loser of OSU/Mich game will be #2 unless that game is a total blowout sadly but i think thats what will happen |

The ranking system is all screwed up. It screws over at least 1 team every year. Most teams (like Rutgers) are eliminated from any chance of playing in the championship before the season even starts and to me that doesn't seem fair. Just my opinion. _________________ Go Giants!!! |

The BCS has been pretty good at helping decide the national title. I'll agree that it is mostly been lucky. I think 2003 and 2004 left too much doubt for it to be a good system. It got very lucky this week, but I don't think that'll matter. I think there will still be 3 unbeaten teams at the end of the regular season. I see no way of fairly deciding it without a playoff though. They could even keep the bowl games. Personally I'd like to see a playoff plus the bowl games. I always feel the college football season is too short anyway. I hate pro football and they play 16 games then a playoff.
I have to agree with LCD. If they wanted to put WV and then Louisville in the title game, they should have the coconuts to do the same with a team that beats them both. The voters always seem pretty bias to me. _________________ SB Devils |

For Rutgers to make the title game they need the following to happen:
They need to run the table, obviously.
They need OSU to destroy Michigan
They need Florida to lose to FSU or the SEC title game
They need USC to lose to Cal
They need Notre Dame to lose to USC
They need Arkansas to lose to LSU
It could happen...And I'll be rooting for it to happen. _________________

I think that's exactly why the BCS doesn't work. All those things shouldn't have to happen just for an undefeated team to play in the title game. It appears that everyone has also forgotten about Boise State. I know their strength of schedule is bad and they aren't in a BCS conference, but they are unbeaten. I keep hearing about how Ohio St. needs to crush Michigan and blah, blah. I really think OSU is a bit overrated, and that Michigan will beat them. That should really shake up the BCS if you ask me. If either is still #2 in the BCS, who would want to see that game again? If Michigan wins and Notre Dame is #2, who wants to see that game again? Plus, I don't see Florida getting past Arkansas in the SEC title game. If Arkansas beats LSU and Florida, do you really think Arkansas would be ranked ahead of USC in the BCS? And why should they? Personally I think LSU and Rutgers have the best two teams in the nation right now, but one definitely won't be playing for a title and the other likely won't be. I don't think I'll care to watch the title game if it turns out like I think. For some reason I find it deathly hard to watch a Big 10 game. I couldn't even watch the Iowa-Wisconsin game yesterday and it was very close. That's the only conference that makes me bored watching too. Even when they are playing an SEC team it seems boring, and I don't know why. I can't wait to have more than two conferences have undefeated teams again and be shutout of the title game, so one of the conferences pulls out of the BCS. That may just happen this year if Arkansas wins out and ends up #3 or #4 in the BCS. And the Big East should have the guts to pull out if Rutgers ends up getting stiffed too. Why is it that the PAC 10, Big 10, and Big 12 never seem to have those issues? _________________ SB Devils |
