There are three teams in College football that I simply CANNOT stand.. and Louisville happens to be number 1 on that list.

I am very, VERY happy with that game.. so much for big, bad Louisville.

Now lets see if Rutgers gets the love that WVU and UL got earlier in the season.. probably not.

Why don't SEC teams schedule them? They've turned down about 10 home and homes in the last few years.

You know what im sick and tired of you bringing the SEC into everything topic I post in.

Grow up.. this post had nothing to do with the SEC in any way shape or forum.. If you had actually read you'd have noticed I was TAKING UP for Rutgers. Also, if you must know I hate Louisville because of some of their fans I've had the misfortune of knowing.

If you want to start an anti-SEC or SEC bashing topic, be my guest but STOP hijacking other people's threads with it.

Living in the NYC area college football is not high on many peoples sports list to follow with all the pro teams around here. If any team was a favorite around here it was Notre Dame due to all the alumni and catholics. Rutgers was always a joke. Going into last nights game no one gave them a chance. It was a great game and a nice surprise. I don't think everyone will believe they are for real though until they beat some college football icons.

I really thought they'd win it until it got to be 25-7, but the defense took over in the second half. Anytime you have a very good defense, you are goning to be in games. Remember, it's hard to win if you can't score.

Nice work by Rutgers.

I've also considered Rutgers a joke when it came to football... I remember visiting New Brunswick for a college tour and when the tour came to the football field, I was thinking... what a joke. But they're legit this season... football team-wise. (The school's still a joke, and their baksetball team) Razz

Georgy,

Why would SEC schedule hard non-conference games when they already have 4-5 ranked teams on the schedule from the other SEC teams. They already have a harder schedule than anybody else in the nation, why make it harder?

Dude, their basketball team last year was sweet. Quincy Douby ftw.

The real question still remains.. will Rutgers get all the love that unbeaten West Virgina and Louisville teams got earlier?

Or will they get bit by the same bug that got Auburn back in 04 (all though there wont be another major unbeaten this season other than the OSU/Michigan winner)

Could a 1 loss Texas or SEC Champion get the nod over an unbeaten Rutgers team just because of where they started the season ranked?

Excellent. Well, according to the rankings Ohio State, Michigan, Louisville(That'll change though, obviously), and Texas are better than Florida and Auburn, and USC, Cal, Notre Dame, and West Virginia are better than Arkansas, LSU, and Tennessee. And you would make it harder so you wouldn't have to Steerike! and moan when an SEC team ends up #3 in the BCS because they played 3 D2 schools and a Sun Belt school.

Well, you know I can't send PMs, so oh well.

What's my problem? What's YOUR problem? Why are you gonna get worked up over this? Since when was "hijacking" a thread some sort of bannable offense? And mod bashing is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Me calling you a "joke" has nothing to do with you being a global mod. It's no different then me calling Reds a joke. So don't bother bringing that crap into it.

And yes, I know you dont take me seriously, so act like it instead of making a big deal out of nothing.

This forum is dead to me.

Nice post G

When the SEC braggarts understand that mediocrity beating mediocrity when it comes to the polls does not mean a better ranking, maybe you and I can quit showing them facts and stats and they will understand.
Wake me up when Bear Bryant returns. In my opinion the SEC doesnt even deserve a BCS bid.

I think any fan of any conference needs to realize some years they are tops and most years they are not. There's like what 6 power conferences. No way does any one conference year in and year out dominate. And all you Louisville and Rutgers doubters need to realize George Washington beat U Conn in this year's CB tourney. It's a little easier for Cinderellas to pull those kind of upsets off in basketball as the rosters and smaller, but with todays Scholarship limitations, parity is among us. Remember teams like Army and Harvard were powers back in the day...

I highlighted the problem with that thinking. I don't put much thought into the rankings as I said before. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Georgia in the top 6 at the start of the year? I also think most voters thought that Notre Dame was gonna be playing Ohio St. for the title. I also believe that some Tennessee team beat that higher ranked Cal team easily this year. All of the 1 and 2 loss SEC teams have all lost to only SEC teams. We can talk all we want, but maybe the bowl games will help decide if the SEC is as good as we believe they are.

I agree the rankings mean squat, so tell your SEC brethren not to use rankings to prove the SEC is the best conference, and tell me how the SEC is the best conference without using rankings. And USC destroyed Arkansas 50-14 earlier this season, so woo hoo.

IMO, Ohio State, and Michigan are on a level all their own.

The winner of this game, wins the National Championship.

I honestly think the winner of that game losses the title game unless it is to USC or Notre Dame. I believe Arkansas, Texas, maybe Florida and possibly even Rutgers could beat either of them. But then again, I was wrong two years ago when I thought USC would get beat handily by either Oklahoma or Auburn.

Aren't you the one always using the rankings and schedule to try to prove that the SEC sucks? There is nothing I can say or show to prove that the SEC is the best conference to you. That's why I said that maybe the bowl games will help that out, but I doubt you'd agree even if they went 9-0 in the bowls and managed a national title.

I'm hopin' that Rutgers and Boise St. go undefeated. Those two, Ohio State and Michigan are the only undefeateds left. And either OSU/Mich will have at least one loss when it's all said and done. I will pretty much guarantee that if Rutgers goes undefeated, they won't get consideration for the BCS Championship game. And their from a BCS conference! If that happens that provides the strongest evidence yet of a problem with the system.

Back on topic. Go Scarlet Knights!

I am the ultimate Rutgers fan!

My team is Rutgers Scarlet Knights 9-0 (formerly Rutgers Scarlet Knights 8-0) and I have the best of the Rutgers roster as players for my team.
