I agree, total waste of time but now it's just an eye sore. They should put something useful there now. And maybe clean up some of the other links on the page. It's funny how "If ever there is a problem with SmallBall or the SmallBall forums, get the up to the minute update here" was last updated on January 20, 2006. Wishful thinking I'm afraid. |

| looks like they've done some upgrades. Looks like now it will require a password to get in. Thats an improvement. Has complete instructions for getting your password if you've forgotten it. |

I am 99% sure know why it's asking for a password.
However I will reserve my comments for a few days, to see if my hunch is right. _________________ 11 time PL1 Champion |

Add me to the list of people who is growing tired of this asininity. If you can update the stupid chat board, please let us know what the heck is going on. You know, a place to start might be whether or not the forums will be renewed...
This is ridiculous. I've been patient throughout, but I'm starting to get fed up. _________________

Sure you do. I think it's usually been referred to as the "Owner's Board". That useless live chat thing on the smallball page. |
useless to you, but some people have full on converstions on it, sometimes not even relating to smallball
most are asking to tips/help which is cool, and some 5* or lower teams challenge each other and chat about it while watching it.. so yeah useless to some, but to others it the only thing they use to talk to other smallballers _________________

If you scroll down inside that owners box, using the scroll bars it says "If you have lost your password, you can reset it by entering your username"
It has a place down there where you can do that. I don't know if it actually works though. |

you would have had to have a registered name with that service.. otherwise it doesn't have the e-mail on record to send a password to. I tried my forum name for password recovery earlier, didn't get an e-mail back so until there is a register link then it is useless to us
(unless whom ever is running smallball is going to be the only one posting there) _________________

You are all wrong.
The page that is coming up is a cpanel page.
that page is what controls the MySQL server that the board runs off.
Cpanel is actually a backend for many sites. Forwxample, the forums and new forums will also have a cpanel backend. It is the brains behind any website. it controls domains, MySQL, e-mails, FTP, etc.
The login/password is not for users, it's for the owners to be able to log in and set it all back up again.
Chances of that happeing, are slim. _________________ 11 time PL1 Champion |

So in other words it crashed and how has to be reset by the owners. I guess we shouldn't hold our breath on that. _________________ "It ain't over 'till it's over" |

I found out about the forums via the "tag board" but with the way kids are these days I'd like to stop adding new members. Very few come a long that don't make me want to slit my wrists. _________________ No one cares about smallball.... |

That's not a good sign. The board will not be missed to much I guess. Maybe by humdrums because he is the only member I saw using it very frequently .... _________________ Rik

if cpanel is used by the owners why am I being asked for a password? Its been like it for over a week. Is it not about time the ones who run smallball sorted it out. I know most of the messages on it are inane and posted by school kids but I do like to look occasionally for a laugh at the morons. Seriously I can ask and get quick answers to any problems that occur if I am short on time. _________________ 121488 116695 162180 162221 162222

There's that whole no owner around thing that kinda puts a damper on sorting it out... _________________

Well I've had my PC cleaned and updated, reinstalled SB and the buggers still there. I do have another problem. Can't get the DT to work. It opens and closes without going to the page. Just says initilising then whoomph it's gone.
Oh well got too many teams and not enough time anyway. I can find time to do better things. Being from England baseball isn't an obsession or life and death.
