| When playing PL games, if I play against a team which has a star rating lower than mine, will my honour drop? |

I dont think PL games nor userleague games effect honor rating. If it does I have never felt the loss in the least. I have two teams I keep at 9.9 or higher. That said BL and UL games have never effected that rating. _________________ "The desire to be a champion is not nearly as persuasive as the commitment to be a champion" |

The answer is no. I my teams have had to play some six and even five star teams on the way up and I didn't loose any honor points. From what I've seen the only way to gain/loose honor points is from public games. Loosing honor points in the pro leagues would be punishing you for something out of your control. _________________ Common sense is not so common. |

A word of warning, EchizenR,
Playing too many games will cost you Skill.
In other words, if you play lots of games trying to get your honor higher, it is going to cost you dearly in skill loss!
Yes, your players will get more tired because they played lots of Big League games!
What to do? Don't worry about honor. Once you qualify for the Pros, it has as much meaning as a politician's promise.

This is a myth. Some believe it, others are skeptical.
There was a time where I would play on average 10-15 BL games a day to get my honor up yet still hit 10* and climb the PL's. (Not during the easy days of Summer 03 either... Team 1141) _________________ XsT | TA# 1.1 | -.- | XXI | $2856.82 (10/27)

Yes, I know. It is one of the longstanding debates, here.
What you quote is anecdotal evidence for the stand that a team DOES NOT lose skill when they play too many games between training.
I happen to have anecdotal evidence that they do. Trouble is, I don't want to test my hypothesis right now because I don't want to make my DT team suffer.
I believe that I could prove it, statistically, if pressed. (I have a B.S. In Statistics - University of Delaware, 1975). However, for the time being, let's agree that it's a myth.
In the meantime, if you have a team that you want to advance, why take the chance that it is true? And why in the world take that chance just to raise Honor, which - unless you can make a case otherwise - is totally useless once you've qualified for the Pro Leagues?

| I have noticed if I play a bunch of BL games after maxing my pitcher, the next day he has lost a lot more pitching skill than normal. Hard to tell with the position players but I do know my pitchers lose more skill. |

Yes, it's tricky. That's why it is still a "myth".
I find that if I play 4-6 games, I'll get 3 players the next day who will have double the normal skill loss in one or two categories.
So, I might have a batter with double he normal bat strength loss, a fielder with double the normal run loss and a pitcher with double the normal pitch and toss loss.
So, it is targeted. The whole team isn't affected. Some skills go unscathed at all...for instance contact and swing skill might not show any adverse affects for any team member.

It may be because your pitcher sees more action per game than most position players. I know I've noticed the same thing before as well _________________ http://sbdevils.com/forum/ and http://smallball.info The only forums you'll ever need. |

If the playing of too many games causes skill loss, that would be a flaw in the game. While it would seem to be a "realistic" feature, it is a flaw because of the availability of playing unlimited unscheduled games.
Unethical managers can make a team which they will use to make their scheduled opponents play lots of games before they play the "real" game with their "real" team. _________________

If there is skill loss from playing to many BL games, it only happens when you initiate games, not when someone plays you. The only thing someone initiating many games against you can do is screw up your player stats.
If the pitcher loses the most skill in initiated games, then having a second pitcher of like skill will allow you to switch and keep your team competitive.

Hey, dekid....
Long story 'bout where I've been, but i have a team up there in the 6* league wih your "Gang" and "Kids"...
I killed off all of my old ST teams and working only with my DT that I won in a competition back on first of May.
See: Trout Mask Replica, still a young team but coming along.
I see you're not in any U/Ls now...grinding it out in the P/L?

Great to see you. The couple of U/Ls I was in folded or died out. Haven't found any other ones I like or are competitive in yet. Still refuse to go DT as long as I have some time to train, though right now I'm on a 36 to 48 hr. training schedule. Would like to stay ST at least a year to see how far I can go with it. Looking forward to be playing you again. _________________ "It ain't over 'till it's over" |
