As the Ship Appears to Sink |
|
|
I say yes the activeness of the forums has gone down and people are leaving but I still have that burning fire inside me to train to make teams better, yes I have had the feeling of quitting but will my team ever make to PL1 from PL4 if I stop. No they won't and I for one will not playing until I get the cannot connect to server message. I've played this game for 4 years met alot of great people have had alot of fun times spent countless hours sittting in front of this computer just to throw in the towel now? No sir the fight continues I will not stop til I can prove to myself that I can lead my 1 pitcher team to PL 1 and not only that, that this game will still live on that people that love and care about this game won't leave until they can not connect anymore.
Got that out it's been bugging me for days. _________________

very nicely said Melee.
If we keep the members, this game will last for a long time. Domain name is registered for a long time.
I will stay.

| I'm pretty new to the game however I dont see why everyone is making such a big deal. So the forums may close down on Oct. 23, there are a million and 1 other forums that you can visit to keep this community going. As long as the people dont stop playing the game will continue, so the Commish abandoned everyone, atleast he didnt shut down the game. We are still able to play games, and train our players! Dont quit on the game! And like it's been said so many times before, dont abandon the ship before it has sunk! |

I too have noticed the "graveyard" appearance of the boards as of late. I check in A LOT. I have to say I will miss this place regardless of what is to come. Not saying that the new forums will be a step back at all. This and PvT were my home away from home. You guys are my true second family. Posts like yours Meleeman kind of hit home. I will continue with my journey as well. See you in PL1. _________________ "The desire to be a champion is not nearly as persuasive as the commitment to be a champion" |

Optimistic outlook and i'm glad someone around here thinks like that but as for me, the recent events seriously impacted my decision to not restart my teams (inactive since May) and instead see how things play out. _________________

From reading these forums the past couple of days you would think smallball was dieing and everyone was leaving. If that was the case my teams would be zipping through all the orphaned pl teams and moving on up. But alas, this is not true. My teams are still having a tough time and getting their butts kicked. Evidently the majority of smallballers DON'T read the forums but just STILL train their teams.

Or maybe they don't train their teams, and your teams just suck so bad that they can't even defeat untrained teams! _________________

I've found that cold showers work best And don't forget to watch, Your Body and You, it should help you learn why you get these "urges" and what they mean
For Smallball related urges see Your Team and You, You and the Forums, and Your Team and the Forums. They may help you deal with the tough time you are going through
And a note towards the topic at hand; people quitting now has nothing to do with Smallball dieing, it's the person either losing interest or having something higher on the priority list to take care of. Smallball is very much alive, some people are just too blind to see that...And in case some people don't get this, the forums and Smallball are two different things. If the forums shut down the game will not. And there will be another place for us to go to as GW has stated. So everyone, cool it. _________________

I was making a joke about Health class, they show stupid movies about "urges" and stuff like that. You said you had an urge to come back or whatever. I made a joke about it. Apparently not a very good one though. _________________
