GW, you're a great guy. I've talked to you briefly here and there. When you've stopped by that SmallBall chat randomly in the late nights, we would always talk. I enjoyed it man, and salute you for your service to this forum. Without you, noone knows what it be like it. Well I do, unbearable. You keep this forum in line, and do a damn good job. Thanks GW for all that you have done. You have ruled this forum with an iron fist, but mostly a fair iron fist and that is all most could ask.

I use to feel that those who bashed the Commish were early, too quick to criticize, and too harsh, now I realize that they saw something that I did not see at the time. They saw through the Commish to see what he really is...a coward, and the worst thing a man can ever be, somebody who is not as good as his word, afraid to face up to his mistakes. Some may be angry that he let the rest of us down, I am content that I am not he and can look myself in the mirror.

Anonymous online activity does not build character, rather it reveals it. Too many of you who have great character need to be mentioned, but if you have it, deep down you know who you are. I wish you well. There are also some of you who lack character, and I wish you wisdom. I wouldn't say that this forum is a great place, more like a desert with an occasional oasis. Thanks to all who helped make an occasional oasis.

Can't say I won't miss the place, even though I've moved on to better places.
"Smalls" would be sad, that's for sure.

Awesome work of you over the years GW, I never really got to know you much but I've been here since the beginning pretty much and I've always appreciated what you have done. I don't blame you for what you are doing, I personally would have done it years ago. You are quite the trooper.

I remember when it was just an idea and we were on Real forum.
Then after the move, getting everyone to accept it. We had to twist Beaner's arm to leave Real. He hates change, you know.

It's been fun for 5+ years and I want to thank all of you for keeping me entertained for all that time.

This is all both sad and promising at the same time. My number one reason for being here is my love of the strategy of baseball. I'd love to know what the Wizard has up his sleeve for the future. If he's taking the community with him, I wish it would involve the game.

But I am sure you have something neat up your sleeve in terms of a meeting place, not to mention thesmalltribe, sbdevils, privateers, .info, and others. There shouldn't be a shortage of locations for all of us to visit on the information superhighway....a place where everybody knows your name.

GW, Through my 1 1/2 years on the forums I have heard alot of bad things about you that were said behind your back. Through all this gossip and slander I have kept my belief that you were one of my favorite people on the forums. You always had the right thing to say when a situation occurred. I could understand your posts (unlike 3/4ths of the people here) and your attitude towards Trevor is legendary. Thank you for all you've done for this forum and the lives of dozens of people. When I first arrived at the forums I was on all day, checking for new posts. Even though I wasn't the most active poster, I sure could've been being able to be on 24/7! I'm sure many other people feel the same way. I for one will miss you and the forums greatly, the one upside to this is that I never have to deal with T....r again. Most of you guys have been great friends, people I could talk to without much fear, people like Junkybird, Rowdy Rooster, stubs, Redbirds, Killer and pizzaguy (even though you were a jerk sometimes, pizza, I could relate to you). I will miss all of you that aren't at TsT (where I will be hanging out now) and for all of you except Trevor, goodbye. You guys have meant so much to me!

However, this does not take away from the fact that you have earned my respect in that same time. While i may not play this game if the forums go down, i will remember the game due to people like you.

I have been playing this game for years now, After taking about a year off I come back a few months ago to see to beginning of the end. This wth GW leaving is another chapter in the book of SB's dismise. I hope I get the info on any doing you have up your sleeve GW, I for one will follow ya!

For the record, it wasn't done as a PR move . It was said for the reason I stated, nothing more and nothing less and if you took it that way then i apologize for the wording. If you want out and are sincere about that and the community still having a place to go then it can go on and continue with what I offered, your server size and quantity are not what I cared about or my concern. The "mine is bigger" syndrome doesn't impress me in this situation.

I do care about most of the people that still play the game and I know when you need help, you need a place to go for help, well I will rephrase for game playing help Game issues need to be dealt with at a good local central source which you provided here.

Do you honestly think that if AndNow was concerned, that it would have came to this point? I don't think it would have, but I do think that in the BIG picture, this entire game and the people that made work better were nothing more than a stepping stone for them. The usefulness and purpose of everyone here that played this game has diminished and instead of stepping up to the plate and saying so, it was better and easier to let it all die off with minimal communication and participation with the community than to deal with the confrontations that would develope.

You can't teach people like that a lesson by shutting a forum down, you can only stick it to the people that belong and participate in the forums GW, they are the ones that will suffer, not Andnow. They made their money already. And that was my point about the offer of the web space for the forum, the people in the community will suffer the loss, and Ed's pockets are still full when he's done for today and sitting at dinner with a big ole grin

Wow. This is definetly devastating. GW. We never did talk a lot, or at all but you were still one of my favourite people on the forums. No matter what anyone says or has said about you, I don't care.
