alt + prnt scrn will copy the active window only. Then you must paste into word, paint, etc. The easiest way is using ctrl + v.

Where does it go after that?
If you say it gets printed I will shoot myself in the foot. _________________ "The desire to be a champion is not nearly as persuasive as the commitment to be a champion" |

I only know for Windows...
ALT + PrtScn. Now, go to 'start' and click 'Run...' On the place where you are able to type, type in "mspaint". Create a new empty image, and use Edit/Paste to bring in the screenshot you just took. Use MS-Paint to Save As, using PNG as the file format (it is superior to all the rest).

it goes onto the clip board, just like if you copy text.
Paste it in paint or photoshop, whichever you have. simply using the print screen button copys the entire screen and then you have to cut out the section you want.
I put it the simple way.. cause that's what i am and whats who i care about _________________

There is a program out there known as ZapGrab that lets you take a screenshot of a selected area that you determine (rather then the whole screen). http://www.fatih.edu.tr/~mcbayram/ZAPGRAB2.EXE _________________

Save the image, then host it on a site like www.imageshack.us, then send them the link to the image. _________________

it only copied the one window you were in and not the whole screen?
EDIT:
wow.. now that i went back and re-read everything..
I thought it was ctrl+prnt scrn (as quoted above).. now that i used Alt + prnt scrn, it works! thanks for the tip BBF!
And a thank you to Alt for making such a useful tool word on his key _________________
