Can a team be on a holiday in the middle of the tourney? I don't think that is fair. I know in the SCL permission has to be granted and it is not usually given except for a really good reason. HC Kort 134321 is on holiday. Part of the strategy of a tourney is hoping to catch a team before they train....So is it ok or not is what I am asking. Yonckman

Since this wasn't caught in the beginning of the tournament, Im going to have to ask you to play them. It would be unfair as of now, because this team has sent 3 other teams home. Really sorry to make you do this, Yonckman, but you have to understand my reasoning.

I wait two days for a reply and now you make me forfiet...That is so weak. I think letting someone move on who is in holiday mode is not only not fair but is against all logic. Give him is forfiet...I hope you are satisfied by giving him such a shallow worthless victory. Yonckman

Ha!

I did not see this, as I had a sever migraine last night after my first day of school. Believe it or not, the migraine was not from this stupid comment.

I will change the game in your favor, as you have played them and won. I will not however tolerate any more of these dumb@$$ comments from you. Do we have a deal?

And YOU shut up too. You're no better at stopping these stupid comments; Yonck is mature enough to admit he did something wrong. Further, all of your cousins and Metro Elite buddies quit my league, so who's the stupid one saying "aww" now?

I hope you understand I did not do this on purpose but I suddenly had severe internet problems and therefore could not train or initiate any games for a certain period and I therefore put them on holiday.

So sorry and congratz with your victory!!
May the best team win!!!! Very Happy Very Happy

PS: Were you afraid cause I had already beaten your team a couple of times Wink Wink

rikderrimmer...bummer you had pc probs...next time why don't you just announce that to Gcool and it would save everyone some grief

Usually in the SCL it is not allowed but it can be for a good reason...that is why I had an issue is because I thought it would give an unfair advantage to a team that had just trained and that team would not lose any pie while waiting for someone to play them. It is already an advantage to have the home field.

btw my team does not fear your team...although they were a little afraid of visiting the ole cornfield where your team plays...you see my team are city boys...last time they were there they were on edge because they kept hearing the theme song from deliverance everywhere they went and knew they had to watch their back everywhere they went...j/k...see ya next time in the pl or tourney...yonckman

Thanks. When you thumped me in Intel with your other team, I figured a change in venue might be in order... Seems like Letterbox did the trick. Wink

The following list is the qualifying list for the Segment 2 Tournament! Remember that the tournament has the 16 teams that let up the least amount of runs, on a few conditions:

1. Played at least 8 games.
2. Have at least 5 games shown on their team page (if I see one game, I can't exactly record that you've only let up 3 runs)

Sorry if this brings up any bad blood, but since it's not for anything and in the spirit of fun, it shouldn't really be a problem.

I might also start the Champions' League in Season 2. This means if you've participated in 2 or more tournaments, you will have the opportunity to partake in a rigorous round robin schedule leading to the Champions Cup, which is conveniently separate from the SBPA Championship.

Segment 2 Qualifier
67555 - 27
178193 - 31
549336 - 32
482220 - 41
29818 - 41
194260 - 46
448835 - 50
134321 - 50
549829 - 50
130220 - 55
477278 - 58
123231 - 60
493708 - 64
487516 - 73
556174 - 78
555005 - 84

The bracket will be up on Monday, first deadline will be Tuesday at 10pm ET.

Good luck to all teams,
Geoff.

I don't quite understand...I'm on the list pretty high, but I haven't initiated 2 of my games...should I? I mean, I'm already on the list, and pretty high. Anyways, I'll probably initiate anyways, I'm just saying I think it might be a better strategy to take the average runs let up, rather than total runs let up...
Of course, you're the league manager (and a pretty good one), so you are the one to decide Very Happy

I'm just going to keep it like this. If everyone initiated their games like they were supposed to, it wouldn't be a problem. It'd just be more of a problem for me to average it out. Perhaps we'll do that next season, if I choose to make it to a season 2...thanks for the suggestion though trog.

This is getting to be rediculous. I take time out of my busy schedule to find no games have been played, and along with the teams dropping out, every team still has at least 6 pending games. It's stupid -- you signed up for this league. Play the games!

I'm sorry, but I will have to cut this league short. As I've noticed, it's too long a commitment and not quite organized, at least not enough for one guy to get a handle on.

With that said, I'm not leaving all of you. I am building another league which is much simpler. Perhaps if I get enough interest I will make it more complex, but for now, I am fine with simple ULs. My phase as an innovator is in part over.

Sorry,
GCool

If you mean pending games as in UL games (I'm guessing yes) then you should tell people to have them done by a certain point (if you did and I'm being stupid then sorry). I was going to play all of these UL games tomorrow but if you are just going to cut them then I guess I won't.

I'm just not liking the format, and it's not just that. I understand it's a long season, and there are a lot of unplayed games, inactive teams, and dropouts. I just think that there could be an easier way to appeal to a lot of people.

You could do what I did with the WSBC and give out prizes to teams that don't quite win it all but tried their best and did pretty well too (taking into consideration the teams in their UL, the other teams they played [if applicable] and the team itself). Just an idea...Do what you feel is best, you run it, you decide. Best of luck to you.

Read the other post, haha. I had that idea forever, and now I can finally do it cuz I'm not waiting for 3 dead teams to play.
