Big problem with all the QT ticket teams!!! |
|
|
Smallball is turning into a game where the people willing to spend the most money on tickets has the best teams. Sorry, Commish... this is going to be the end of Smallball.
Don't get me wrong, I love the game in it's original form, where the best trainers have a shot at winning it all, but now, mediocre trainers can throw a bunch of QT tickets at their team, and all of a sudden they are 10* and beating the crap outta everyone. (OK, this may be a slight exaggeration, but the gist of this is correct). I'm not the only one who sees this, as the Advanced Forum shows many people who think exactly the same way. There are many others who believe that QT tickets give no advantage, but they are either extremely naive, or they are using the tickets themselves and don't want anyone to know.
My teams could always hang with the big guns, and occasionally beat them, but now, I have absolutely no hope...in fact, Slys Roughers (29055) always played the top guns pretty tough, but just last season they lost a Pro game to Shanghai Noon (SB's newest 10*) by a score of 24-0...no way is this right...no way at all...losing is one thing, but 24-0??? Come on...are Slys Roughers suddenly THAT bad? I don't think so...
Commish, is this a concern for you at all? Seems like it's not, which is a problem IMO.

I've been playing this game for a long time, as 10801 is my original team, and I've been quiet for the most part, but this is too much... |

I tend to agree. I have been playing for a year. The game used to be about patience, attention to detail with all players on your team, and being content with a slow but steady development. Spending money on your team, with the use of the new tickets, now provides huge dividends in performance with little thought or effort.
A team that can attain 9* in 46 days strictly by the use of QT tickets? Sorry, but that is obscene. I may not be the best trainer in the game, 8* took me six months prior to the dt becoming availible. However, I know each of the players skills, strengths and weaknesses.
Shoot, I love this game but I donn't know if I should give it up or go with the (cash) flow. Umm maybe I can cash in some of those cans and bottles and continue to be competitive. |

Lets get rid of the DT too, after all DT is an unfair advantage over those people who cannot get it.
Look at stats instead of getting all caught up in the hoopla of this and that about the QT.
I have used the QT and know that although it seems you are buying a team, you really arent doing anything more or less for them.
In the end it all averages out. A person is not gonna train in power everyday so hes gonna have to train in something else. When he trains in something else hes gonna lose skill in power.
I think where everyone is thinking that you are getting more gains is in the way that the gains are reported (+250). Those gains are based on however many players are being trained at the time in that area. If you are training 12 players with the ticket then that is a 20.8 average per player. Doesnt mean every player is getting that, your benchies might be average 35 per player and the rest delivered to the other players.
Say for arguements sake they are getting 20.8 per player. Thats for a 2 day pie. Break that down to a 1 day pie and its around a +10 gain. Thats not over the top or even huge boost in my eyes.
Now make the arguement that its dedicated skill gain in ONE particular area. OK, so what, if I use a QT ticket to get a +10 in power and I normally would get a +7 in power, +2 in contact, +1 in skill. It seems to me then that I am losing skill in the other 2 areas more than normal now.
So the next day Im gonna use a contact ticket, ok now Im not getting power and its dropping and so is skill.
My point is this, you are dedicating more TP to a single skill, it doesnt mean the other skills still dont have to be taken care of and I feel it will all balance out in the end. After all, your teams skill rating (stars) is based on an overall average of your teams skill not on how much skill they have in one area.
I say give it some time, it hasnt even been out a month yet and still noone can prove that it has succeeded in making them any better than anyone else. Until someone who wins 1st league over and over again because he has used QT tickets I say it doesnt mean much. _________________ "Oderint dum metuant" |

One point only:
DT is a great enhanced training tool. Pay for it once and enjoy the benefits. |

problem here is that it won't be long until every team in the top couple of leagues will have to continue buying these tickets to stay in these leagues. No one will win it over and over because everyone there will be doing the same thing (buying QT). My teams are suffering already because of this, and the problem is only going to get worse for those of us unwilling to spend, spend, spend on this game... |

Personally, I'm going to just keep plodding along. One of two things will happen - We will see that QT tickets can not keep a team on top over a period of time (per the nmshooter theory), or we will see that Commish will make some adjustments. We all know that smallball is constantly evolving - remember back in the day when gravity failed and everyone was hitting 600 ft homers? There simply hasn't been enough time to get a good read on the impact of QT. Doom and gloom the sky is falling posts don't add data - they just express the opinion of owners. Like every other new feature, give it time, let the green team figure things out and make adjustments. Give them quality data to figure things out with, not just your opinions. _________________

Buying greatness |
|
|
the QT tickets are very effective: they focus ALL TP on one skill. They don't provide more training then the trainers since TP is what regulates how much training a player can get. its that its focused not that its more.
I understand the nasty feeling that someone could pay money to be great. There needs to be a balance. I have the perfect solution coming in a few days!

Beaner I love your little white cat!!!
Current plan: friday morning there will be an update with what I think is a perfect solution! I can't tell you yet.
back up plan is to weaken the QT batting tickets.... by spreading the training focus across the other batting skills a tiny bit.
remember: no pain, no gain. _________________ For Customer Care please email: Support@SmallBall.org |

So, if we buy QT tickets before this change, will their effect change when this is implemented? |
