Check this out.

I had an early meeting this morning at work, after which I decided I'd run in Walmart (right down the road from where I work now) and get something to take home for breakfast.

When I came back out, one of the "buggy-boys" was doing their rounds, and I *WATCHED* the guy shove a run of buggies (looked like 5 or 6) right into the back of my car. OHHH the fit I pitched over this. Had it been a mistake or an accident.. sure I'd have been upset but this guy pushed the buggies right towards my car. BAD THING is I wasnt parked anywhere near one of the buggy stations they have in their parking lots.

Lets just say I got three different managers out into the lot.. showed them the damage (busted tail light, scratched on the side, and a semi-large dent)

Now according to the store manager, it is against Wal-Mart policy to cover any damage from buggies in the lot. However, when I threatened to call a lawyer over the fact the guy wearing a Wal-Mart vest shoved them into my car...

Lets just say that before I drove off.. we had it "settled" Twisted Evil

Maybe the guy was just mad because you were getting your exercise inside the store? Wink Sorry mlthmp, I just couldn't help myself. My horrible sense of humor got the best of me. When I first read it I was trying to figure out why you ran IN Wallyworld and then ofcourse I realized what you meant.

I don't blame you a bit! I'd have been PO'd too! I think I would have atleast pushed for a new computer out of the deal...lol Seriously, I've watched lots of people just set the grocery cart(not employees) on a slope and I jumped out of my car to run and get it before it slammed into somebody's car. After having some big guy accuse me of being the one that let it go after he seen me running for it....I wasn't sure I wanted to do this anymore. I'm sure glad your deal turned out well. I'll definately remember this in the future. I just figured they had some kind of law on their side to keep them from being sued for such a thing. I know better now!!! Wink

Wow... Makes me glad I've only shopped at Wal-Mart a couple times in my life! Wink

Hope you got a good deal when you "worked it out" with their managers and that kid got fired on the spot, he certainly deserved it. Evil or Very Mad

Well, the Minneapolis/St. Paul area is not so big on Wal-Mart, seeing as how Target's headquarters is located in downtown Minneapolis.

Did you get the manager's name? If so, you should bring him a copy of your reciept from fixing the car, if it does indeed cost more than the $500...

Unless you are going SERIOUS after market it should cost you maybe 20-30 bucks at the most... A tail light is just plastic man, they are SIMPLE to replace, don't let someone do it for you, it's only a couple of screws!

Tail lights, yes. Tail light covers? A whole different story...it really depends on the car. I think it was my Scirocco...had that busted and the cheapest replacement I could find (from a wrecker) was $175. And that was just for the part.

I always keep it in my photobucket for just such an occasion. Wink

I have gotten to where I don't care for Wal-Mart or Target anymore. I guess that due to a growing thug population here, they now keep all the DVD's and video games locked up. You have to go and track down some sloth with a key, and then direct them to what you want. Then, about half the time, when I walk out of the store past those security thingies, the damned alarm goes off because the cashiers lack the capacity to disable the security tags properly. Then I have everyone looking at me like I'm stealing something.

I have gotten to where I stick to other stores like Best Buy, or just order online.

Sorry to hear that happened to you. I hate completely unnecessary hassles like that. Glad you got it "settled" though. I think that Wally World has enough money in the bank to make your situation right. Wink

Look on Ebay Motors, you will be able to pick one up at a good price, my buddy found one for his bronco after he broke it out during a boat backing up incident.

Also a Minnesota company (Best Buy that is). Wink

The Targets here have been locking up their games for some time (except for the Greatest Hits and other marked down games), but that's understandable since the average game is between $40-50 new. Now locking up the DVDs, that's a new one for me. I can't speak for Wal-Mart (since I don't remember the last time I was in one), but I've yet to see a Target do that. Atlanta must be more "gangsta" than I thought. Wink

The Dirty South man.
I've been to ATL, and yes it is gangsta.
The reason they lock up video games and some of those stuff is most of the people stealing items are teenagers and what do they want most? The newest video game that they can play for hours for free!
Plus, I've never seen DVD's get locked up either.
