Subject description: A few modest observations

Make sure you slide tackle at all possible times just so you can be way out of position for each play.

Never pass along the ground, lob-passing will give everyone a fair shot at the ball.

When on a breakaway, never drive inside the box, make sure you take a long distance shot so that way the goalie can get in better position.

Be sure to let the opposing team score on each ensuing kick-off after your team had to struggle to create scoring chances and earn a goal. What's the fun in keeping a lead that you've earned?

Make sure you run away from corner kicks, they're evil and you don't want the ball to touch you.

If you're a keeper, and the ball comes within inches of you, be sure to let the opposing forward take a shot before you make an attempt to take possession of it.

When tracking an opposing player who is on a breakaway, make sure that you do not run straight after him. Stop every once in a while and look behind you so he can stay in front of you.

If there's an open winger, make sure you kick the ball as hard as you can at such an angle that he'll never gain possession and it will go out of bounds

On throw-ins, don't move. Let the ball come to you very slowly so the other team may slide-tackle the ball away.

Over-run the ball as often as possible, then act like you have no clue where it went.

If there is only one defender in front of you and you're driving the ball to the net, make sure that when he starts to slide-tackle that you run right into him, no matter how much time you have to make a move around him.

When taking a free kick in your defensive zone, have your team run up the field, then calmly pass the ball straight-across the pitch to your opposite wing-back so that way the opposing forward can intercept it and march into the goal.

Cliff's Advice
If your winger is driving down the sideline and a forward comes open, make sure you avoid passing to him at all costs! Drive into double coverage instead. Cross passes are evil incarnate!

Jayie's Advice
When a forward has the opportunity to drive at the goal without any defenders around, quickly turn and pass the ball to another forward or winger who is closely marked by an opponent, thus giving the opposition the opportunity to steal the ball and create a goalscoring chance of their own.

Any other great tips for under-achieving owners?

Lol, I love it! I have one to add, my teams favorite trick:

If your winger is driving down the sideline and a forward comes open, make sure you avoid passing to him at all costs! Drive into double coverage instead. Cross passes are evil incarnate!

there have been numerous posts on this forum and the bugs forum over the last few months regarding football, the football site, etc and not one of them have been addressed by commish or any of his henchmen.

what hope i had is slowing being eroded. soon i will be of the same opinion as dan and jt.
