I think im gonna stop trying to figure out this game .... my 2 best contact @ skill batters couldn't hit the broadside of a barn...my 2 worst contact @ skill batters almost have .500 avg.to me this is complete insanity..I now believe there is no exact science to this game and I am going to play players according to preformance.

I noticed that myself, nearly everyone on my team is over 400 but one of my players couldn't buy 300 if he had a million bucks, even the pitchers have better BA's then him, and he is ranked over more then 1/2 my players in every category.

I say go with the hot hand, nothing wrong with playing a guy on a streak even if the sort says he sucks.

As crazy as this could drive you, it is one of the things that makes this game so great I think. You actually have to pay attention to your team to get the best out of it. It is not just a matter of throwing the best players in your line up, it is throwing the ones that do the job best in.

Great advice! Commish has allways told the community to watch your teams performance in games and train them according to that. I never watched my games while i played baseball (games take so long and i find baseball games boring) and thats probly why the furtherest i ever got was 11th in PL4. Since i started playing football i have realized how amazing it is that you can learn so much more about your players by watching games.

Sort lists are only an aid, theres no point relying 100% on them because each players performance on the field is what really matters. Performance and sortlist dont allways tell you the same thing about a player

I don't think that I have set a batting order based on sort lists since the first season I played. I always sort by average and home runs.

I do use the sort lists to determine what to train though.

I like to train Power (D12-EJK-Q9K--T16-KA7-Y2E), and the quicker the better.

A balanced team is great, but don't forget to balance your batting also.
