Super Rookie and Bench Skill loss Subject description: Does anyone really know? |
|
|
I was browsing the forums today looking for a solution on the use of my Super Rookie. I just started a new team last season and they are finally around 6-7*. I trained the first 2 weeks looking for a couple of guys to train in pitching. I narrowed that down to 5 guys and am still training them while the other guys are now being trained in other areas.
The pitchers are maxing before their TP is gone so I am now training them in other areas as well. I pretty much have two guys who are holding their own in pitching and the other 3 are getting a bit more in fielding and some batting.
1 of the guys on this team just does not want to move up the sort list and remains at the bottom on every category even if he is the only one to use a full pie in that area (and he seems to be maxed there too!) I'm pretty sure I should replace him and I have a SR ticket I can use. Since this team is close to 6 or 7* I figured it might also give me a good indication of where my players skill levels are at compared to this new guy with a 6* rating in all categories (I believe that is what a super rookie is, if not, I would like someone who knows to correct this thought). I know I can get the real information using a scouting report, but I have an SR and want to replace this guy who appears to be going nowhere, and this would be an added bonus at this point in my young teams life.
I have read a bit about this on older posts and found some unsure answers:
http://www.forums.smallball.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?highlight=super+rookie+training+potential&t=25659
My questions:
Does a super rookie really have a 6* skill in every skill level?
If an SR does have 6* can I use that to compare my other players and see where they might be in their skill development?
Do I use the SR Ticket now before this new guy can have a real chance at maybe sorting to the top part of the skills lists?
Will a super rookie have a full TP when he gets on the team or does it depend on what the guy I am replacing has in TP?
The second part of my post has to do with potential loss:
I saw this post while I was looking for answers to my SR questions
http://www.forums.smallball.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?highlight=bench+skill+loss&t=47112
I had not heard of benchies losing skill faster while they where on the bench before today. (I try to read as many posts as I can, but some fall through, sorry if this has been pointed out recently).
Is this true? If it is, it explains a little bit about my training technique and I will have to change it to accommodate this new found knowledge. Maybe the difference is so insignificant (I would say less than 10% difference in skill loss is insignificant) that nobody really talks about it much and tend to ignore it. In that case, I won't think about it. |

On replacing the one guy that seems never to move up on the sort list , thats a chance you have to take , I have had guys that couldn't hit worth beans and were low on the other skills , some of them are my best players.
On the bench skill loss , I don't pay attention to it , I use my bench quite frequently _________________ It is difficult to say what is impossible , for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow.

The SR is 6* in all skills including pitching.
If an SR does have 6* can I use that to compare my other players and see where they might be in their skill development?
If your team has already been at 7*, not sure how much you can compare. If your team is a 6*, he should be near or at the top of all categories. Hard to guage where the players are 6.3, 6.4....6.9 etc
Do I use the SR Ticket now before this new guy can have a real chance at maybe sorting to the top part of the skills lists?
That is a chance you will have to take, I have regular rookied players when my team was at 9* and the rookie seemed to eventually have better skills
Will a super rookie have a full TP when he gets on the team or does it depend on what the guy I am replacing has in TP?
I don't know for sure, my guess is full TP.
As for skill loss for bench players, the post you had the link to is the latest I have heard about that. |

A super rookie always has full TP when he gets on the team, no matter how much the person had before him. _________________
