I noticed when I wrote my last post that there are five baseballs under my name and mine says: ROOKIE and others say MEMBER or PRO how do I advance to the next level?

yeah these ratings mean nothing. jagriff3 and SB_Knights have been here since October 2005, approximately a month and a half, and they are already "Experts" lol. Check out some of their posts and you will obviously see that these guys are not experts and they reply to most posts with things such as "Yeah I agree with you man!" or something of that nature; obviously an attempt to fit in with a community. I have been here as long as them, and have read as much as them in the forums and am still of the "Rookie" class with only 30 posts, because I don't ever reply to a post unless I can say something worth while.

So in conclusion, just don't depend on these ratings, they are a good idea, and would be nice if you didn't have people such as jagriff3 and SB_Knights.

So you are saying neither I nor SB_Knights are an influence to the community.

You figured me out. I'm caught. I know absolutely nothing and make up all my posts trying to help people on the fly. I even fooled some of the long timers that were nice enough to tell me thanks for trying to help the newer players out. Now they will know I am really just a fraud.

I would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for that dog and those meddling kids.

I will sum this up very quickly..

when someone makes a post offering help or advice, you out to be thankful soemone cares enough to answer a newbie's question.

So, civics may I suggest you listen to what people like Knights has to say. because odds are he is going to be one of the best trainers before much longer.. and if you ever want to be good you should listen to what people like him have to say.

Knights has been a terrific influence to these forums, and will probably continue to do so long after youve decided to give up and quit.

There, I said it now flame me!

First off, SB_Knights is actually a good trainer and has been good with the forum in helping out newbies. I accidently included him in the "useless forum poster" category because he and jgriff seemed to friends in one post, and you know what they say, usually stupid people stay together. But after my post I had looked at SB_Knights previous posts and saw that he actually left meaningful replys to posts.
As for jgriff, I have reviewed just about all his posts, and stand firm that he is a DA. Most of the posts leave me with the impression that he is some 7 year old boy trying to achieve the highest ranking in this forum as quick as possible with posts such as "That is a good point!" or posting replys in the "Word Association" topic in which one just replys with a word that comes to their mind. Also posting many threads of nonsense in the testing forum. This has made him get to posting an average of 18 posts per day, for a total of 621 posts in a month and a half. Now know that I am not attacking jgriff, he seems like a good guy, very eager and enthusiastic to learn. Keep at it!!! But I am making the point very strongly that to not take the ratings seriously, because of the ease of posting nuisance. If you want to listen to a veteran teach the beginners, then there should be another rating system, or perhaps a better one. This rating system would keep track of many factors including how long one has been a member of the forums, how long one has actively been involved in the forums, and the strength of one's smallball team that they manage. All of these factors should combine to produce a rating that one could feel confident about. I know that people who have been here a while are annoyed with the fact that they have been through the begginer stage, ran through all the long hours of training their team, and now can be proud of their dedication all the years. When they see people who have an expert rating when they have only been here a month they are pissed, I would be.

Honestly, I think you are the only person in the forums that pays attention to the ratings.

Posts in the testing forums don't count but I still post there because I enjoy this community and I will play that game when I can. Other posts in the testing forums is about my signature. I'm trying to get good with photoshop and I ask for opinions of others.

The posts where I say I agree is because if a beginer asks a question and only one person answers it they might think "o if this is the way only one guy in the forums does it maybe it isn't worth it" so I let him now that the person answering him is right and to follow what ever he said to do.

I try to help people in the forums (beginer especially) as much as I can so that is why I may post a lot answering them, not because of some stupid rating on the side of the screen under my name. Personally I think there shouldn't be ratings because in SB you are either a begginer or a person who still is learning.

By the way: I am a seven year only kid sneaking in on parents computer not knowing a thing about the game nor even having a team.

Posts in the test forum do count. Until those posts get deleted.
