Ill say offense.. you have to have enough defense to help carry your team through the rough patches.. but I think 80% of it is offense.. and i may be wrong

I say half and half is better. But I've won nothing so it is just opinion.

SB_Knights you are soon to win PL1 once your team has been around long enough to get there.

Am I right in thinking that it's kinda like winning the World Series of Poker? You have to be both good and lucky.

Yes, becuase unless all the teams are the same in skill level it depends on how good of a team you get.

I don't think its none of the things you have up there. Teams don't win championships........trainers do. A well managed team is hard to beat. Have you ever seen a team tearing it up in BL games, yet cant win in PL ? ask yourself......why does that happen?
Coming up the leagues you see great teams that can smoke the ball, and play defence, yet they are stuck. Its because they dont have the time. Some of them its because of work and not being able to initiate games in days when they should. Others just don't have time to really know their players.
I'll take a great managed team over a great batting team every time in a 18 game season.

A great team = Manager and trainer + batting and defense

Bottom line

i voted for 100% well rounded because, if you look at the teams in pl's 1, 2, and 3, most are nearing ten star, you will always find them on the nine star list, because they are nine star or maybe ten star in everything that they do, which includes offense, and defense.
