If you have the money I suggest for you to buy the DT but if you can't afford it then use it on Free DT Fridays and still make a great team.

I like the ST better

You get a better sense of achievement when you do well
And it is OLD SCHOOL

Well I would feel a better sense of achievment if I used ST and did good but if I were to win PL1 with a DT team thats good for me.

Just keep telling yourself that. Rolling Eyes

While it is more impressive to hit 9* or possibly 10* with ST than it is with DT, it doesn't always mean you're a better trainer, just that you have a lot of patience.

Don't let people stop you from buying the DT if you have the means to do so. Think of it this way, if you're willing to pay $50 for the latest PC/PS2/XBox/GameCube game, then it should be no problem paying $20 (or less, if you can find a deal in the Trade Forums) for the DT.

Out of my 3 DT teams, I've payed the full $20 for one, $12.50 for another (thanks to Money), and got the third for free out of sheer luck (thanks to Mo and hferris for that one).

Anyway, enough of my rambling, welcome to the greatest online game EVAR!!!1ONESHIFTONE!

PS-
Didn't mean to rip on ya there, just encouraging a new trainer to make a worthwhile investment in the DT. Wink

If you're in for the long haul... I recommend the Deluxe Trainer.

You'll find that being successful (on different levels) is much more efficient and easier with the Deluxe trainer over the standard. While success is possible with ST, it is much harder. (Few have gotten to 10*, and none have won first league. *Except when DT was not released yet)

I've always liked the comparison of the DT to the $50 video game because it's true. Wink What's even better is you can buy the DT for over less than 50% of the original price if you manage to find a deal in the trade forums. Wink

I paid 20 bucks for mine too and I think it was worth every cent and do not regret that I could have gotten it for less.

I love the DT, it makes training so much more pin point and so much easier.

But I think that DT is better even though i dont have it, because you can focus on more specific things on its (Ex. contact hitting, power hitting ,running) and TP can regenerate faster on it....

TP gains are the same on both ST an DT.

Yep, one of the big bonuses in having DT.

Yankees123 wrote:

Absolutely not, the Deluxe Trainer ticket makes it more efficient, but faster TP replenishment is not true. It's 24 hours for bench players and 48 hours for starters for every team in SB. (Except when on holiday/sabbatical/retirement)

Tp regenerates faster on the bench and in DT you can put your entire team on the bench to rest

TP doesnt regenerate while the Trainer is open. You have to close the trainer in order for your players to gain TP. If you dont believe me, try it out.

I recommend the Deluxe Trainer, it is a great tool for seeing how your players sort, look at some of the teams in PL1, some only have DT and no stadiums or anything else, I think that the Deluxe Trainer is the greatest investment that you can make to a smallball team.

Yeah, if only I could figure out how the hell to work PayPal then I would probably have another team or two. I've set up a PayPal account all it's done is give me tons of problems, I don't trust it one bit.

Kindred, how tempting that is. heh

Now I can't say I'm the best trainer that's posted in this thread. Mad

EDIT: It's been 10 minutes Shocked so I took it.

In return, first two people who don't have a dt team (and I will be able to know) to PM me, I'll give a dt team to.

See what you started Kindred? Surprised

Cool move Money...I was concerned that someone who has DT teams, like yourself, would get greedy and take it, but hell, in charity you have to trust in the honest spirit of people...and not dwell on the greedy part. This way of yours to ensure that a few new underprivileged (in SB trainer terms) folks get taken care of was a slick move though!

As of two weeks ago it did, I started a new team from scratch then and I used the DT free on Friday, and free for trial on Saturday and Sunday.

Last year when I first experience SB they had trials. I left and came back about a month ago and there were no longer any DT trails like this which made me mad.
