Yes. Mainly because they have a step on the righties to first base and most people don't train the RFs to have a very strong arm or catch well.
I bet now they do since most people have a lot of them. _________________

I don't personally think one is better than the other. Both have their quirks that make them an advantage to have. Myself, I have 7 lefties, and kept my 5 power hitters as righties.
When I need to go brickyard or such for an away game, I can enter the 7 lefties in and come out on top a lot of the time.
When I need to go centennial or alice or something like that, stick in 5 of the righties and hit some homers
However, lefties hit more for average so I personally think that they make excellent early lineup/setup men for the power righties. _________________ 144359. 894. 152985. 44442. 44117.

...ok
Either can play to your advantage. It all depends on your strategy, if you have one! _________________ Tomorrows Past Is Yesterdays Future

Mainly? No. That's not the main reason.
If there's any distinguishment, it is due to the hole between the 2B and 1B when a runner is on second. Other than that, it plays to what park the game is in. _________________ XsT | TA# 1.1 | -.- | XXI | $2856.82 (10/27)

It depends on at least three things (maybe more):
The stadium
The type of hitter
The defensive abilities of the RF and LF
For example, at Centenial Park, a power hitter should be right handed, and a quick contact hitter should be a lefty. Every park and defense will favor different abilities, but you assume the player pulls the ball most times. |

Don't forget if you hit a line drive off the right field wall it would be easier to get to third than if you had hit it into left. _________________
