if I owned the Iliad, i would just brag about it every day. you'd all get so sick of me and try to ban me from the forums.

that would be so great Very Happy

I think my choice would be DarkElf's Destroyers 83934, because they are one of the most successful teams in SmallBall history and they continue to be great today.

Team ID 1 (New York 9) would also be a cool one to have

Don't tell nelmo that. Wink

If I wasn't at work I might search one of nelmo's explanation about the Iliads skill level, but not today.

131313. I want to punch whoever last owned that team in the nether-regions for abandoning it!

I think my biggest pet peeve in SmallBall is how so many teams have been abandoned, never to be trained again... And when it's such a cool ID#, they deserve a swift kick to the groin, and that goes if it's a woman, too (although the punishment will be much less severe, I admit).

Hehe. I used to play that team over and over with another team that I named "Email me at (myemailaddress). I want to buy your team!" or something like that. I SOOO wanted that team...musta played them 30+ times one season.

Actually, the big thing he really did was to retire his team at the right time. There was a time in SB that hitting 10* was pretty commonplace and then skill loss was adjusted and he sabbed them just before that. If he were to start training that team, I'm pretty confident that he wouldn't hold his place atop the list...at least not as much as he does...

yeah brag about a team that NEVER MADE IT PAST PL 4 and was retired when there was absolutely no skill loss. When Illid was retired id bet they werent even on the 10* list at the time. I once had 27 teams on the 10* list one day (no lie) and a lto of those teams sucked

and to those who want to Own regulators, mob or DeD team rememebr one thing

Its not the team that makes a trainer great, Its the trainer that makes the team great.

I can just see Regulators, DeD and Mob in PL 4 if they were ever sold to somebody

I would want team ID 3. There is no team ID 3. How come they don't sell off the really good numbers, like 2, 3, 4, etc.?
Even 33, or 333 would make me very happy. Very Happy

They're getting there. I figure it'll be 7 years before we get to the 000 team packs.

The team I would want to own is ID 142606 The Wiffle Ball Kids ~THC~.

-wait. I do own them.... Exclamation

ACTUALLY, I've always envied Gooser's teams just for the amazing names. (Room Temperature is my favorite)

Also, I think it is time that all retired teams be removed from the star lists. They should receive their own list, and not clog up the top spots in the Star Leagues or Stadium Leagues. Those spots should be reserved for teams that actually work everyday to stay there.

Just my two cents.

He trained a team for star ranking instead of for winning. I've been at the top of the 9* list before (before there was 10*) and my teams were beaten regularly. Star levels are nice but they don't me a thing if you can't win games.

Thank you LCD for taking over something Im tired of trying to explain.

BTW.........here is something I saved when there was only a handfull of 10* teams when skill lose was raised. Mine was a great team, but NOT the best. I retired them with both pitchers in and best three on bench, yet have never been as good even with them in, as some of the alltime greats. The team on top in skill(The Iliads) now, couldnt be bat boys on my team in those days.

I remember making the soccer team in school when i was 6 . First year they had the team. Coach was asking what #'s. Only player i idolized was King Kenny. So, from that day on i wore #7 (Changed to #17 in 1994).

To this day, i think he was the biggest steal liverpool have bought. 440K quid seems a joke in todays coin.

My idol at that time too, i think of those years with Kenny, Souness, Hansen, Lawrensen. Possibly the best team i've ever seen.

I'm a Wolves fan so for me it has to #9, the legendary Steve Bull

I want ID#7.

Is that a king Kenny thing?

I remember making the soccer team in school when i was 6 . First year they had the team. Coach was asking what #'s. Only player i idolized was King Kenny. So, from that day on i wore #7 (Changed to #17 in 1994).

To this day, i think he was the biggest steal liverpool have bought. 440K quid seems a joke in todays coin.

King of The Kop himself.

My idol at that time too, i think of those years with Kenny, Souness, Hansen, Lawrensen. Possibly the best team i've ever seen.

I'm a Wolves fan so for me it has to #9, the legendary Steve Bull

Steve Bull, bloody fantastic player. Prolly missed out on a lucrative England career being stuck out of the top flight. I always group him and Vinnie Jones together for some reason. Both hard nosed players that would've looked good in Anfield Red.

I always remember an old Panini album i had when Wolves were Div. 1. The player Carr sticks out, and the fact EVERY player had a HUGE head in the sticker.

My dad follows the Midlands teams religiously (He's a Villa fan).

LOL.........I remember that M.A.S.H. team of yours LCD. Long time ago Very Happy

For those of you that still dont know........there were like 200 10* teams back then. When it was changed, they were even lower than the one LCD saved. All of them dropped from the star list the second commish changed the skill lose. It just so happened that the day he did this................everyone that was above The Iliads wasnt retired and dropped skill ............the Iliads retired at the right time. Blackice couldnt even train as all his skills including pitch were maxed on all players. He had the top 8 teams on the sort the day commish seen it had to be changed.

I would think about giving them to you if I was sure that I would never train them again. Not there yet. Eventually I should find them a good home.

The team I would want is England, just to see why that team usually pounded the snot out of my team. It was the only team in Smallball that when I played them I would say to myself "this is a loss." Never understood what the problem my team had with them. England would struggle with certain teams that I would beat on a regular basis, then I would play them and it was 16-2 almost every time.
