Too many clans that can't keep themselves running. It's sad.
Reasons: Poor Leadership, sites are usually just a free- forum board that has advertisements, with slower load times, and not all of the phpbb forum features. That's just what I have noticed since playing smallball. Though ASC went 6 months nearly, that was probably the best I have seen.

AcA has been up and going strong since early 2003 (at least). A few others like PvT have been around a long time as well.

You're right though, most fail quickly.

I have used Invision Free forums for )TUS( from December 2004 until August 2005. I switched to phpbb free forums last month...and guess what.....)TUS( is still here! We use the bank, shop, lottery and games section heavily too! Shocked

Clans fail because the so called "leaders" become bitter when they realize that they actually have NO control over individuals. Rolling Eyes

Clans fail because:

-The kid is on a power trip

-The kid wants everybody to do what he/she says

-The kid doesn't realize that some if the clan members may be twice their age and have a lot more common sense

-The kid doesn't bother to do a little research on forums/websites before throwing one together

-The kid recruits 10 people that just started playing smallball 4 minutes ago

-The kid doesn't have patience

-The kid advertises that they have cool tourneys and events...but never gets it done

....I have many, many more reasons why I think clans fail, but i'll leave the rest alone!

you know what they say in history class

absolute power means absolute greed; once you have it, no way are you going to give it up. in ASC's case, the administrator title was claimed by about five people, and that led to anarchy. almost like Renaissance France...

The entire quote was well said, but I laughed out loud at this statement.

Mo is a very good leader which is a big reason why )TUS( is a strong clan.

lol not really, it led to you not taking enough control on the tourneys (if it was you who was supposed to do so) and pats did nothing, but it wasnt anarchy, pats just got lazy and quit smallball and people dropped out fast.

i disagree i believe that it was pats and blue only but the mods thought they had too much power which is ultimatly why i got fed up with the clan and left

(thats why a clan may not be very skilled, not why it fails)

(ties in with bad leadership, isnt patient)

(Poor leadership, cant follow through)

Yeah, they fail because of poor leadership.
There wasnt anarchy, there was no responsibilty.
