Haha...I was gonna scold you because I thought you meant for them to post it here so you can move it. But you mean in the football tourney section. Well, there are tourneys out there, but they're at different sites. Maybe I'll do a tourney soon for the people that aren't at the other sites... _________________ "I can resist anything except temptation" - Oscar Wilde |

Bunch of different leagues in this site. VERY well run and professional.

Excellent league. Run by Tim's Dodgers.
There's also the English Premier League, but I don't have the address for that one. Still, a great league from what I hear. _________________ "I can resist anything except temptation" - Oscar Wilde |

There have been leagues for football almost since it was first released...they're always posted before they're about to begin to get new people involved... _________________ "I can resist anything except temptation" - Oscar Wilde |

I usually don't say much cause I spend most of my time doing rather than talking but today I definitely have something to say.
Ever since the inception of Smallball Football, it has played second fiddle to baseball. That is understandable BUT, at the same time, nothing, and I mean nothing has been done to enhance or advance the game.
Up until just recently, any football recruiting posts were buried within a maze of baseball posts, doomed to be easily overlooked or missed. The massive amount of baseball posts gave a football post a front and center life expectancy of maybe half a day, before it disappeared into the 2nd page.
Then came the much discussed and debated "Pay to Play Scheme." As far as I am concerned, that almost drove the final nail into the coffin of football, BUT, dedicated individuals, such as, Tim's Dodgers, mriain, and Steel Dog kept the dream or game alive with their independent leagues.
I know for a fact that the Italian Series, the Irish Premier, the Scottish Premier, the Eircom Premier, Barclay's Premiership, and others have regularly made recruiting posts, all of which disappeared within the maze of baseball's massive amount of communiques.
Looking for Leagues - Check out what appears to be well kept secrets
Italian Series - Preparing for Season 9 (Some Vacancies) - Operated by Tim's Dodgers
Barclay's Premiership - Currently in Season 14 (Some Vacancies) - Operated by Kenku
Irish Premier League - Preparing for Season 14 (League Full) - Member of AFF Leagues
Scottish Premier League - Preparing for Season 15 (League Full) - Member of AFF Leagues
Scottish First Division - Preparing for Season 2 (3 Vacancies) - Member of AFF Leagues
Eircom Premier League - Preparing for Season 3 (Some Vacancies) - Member of AFF Leagues
The AFF alone operates 6 leagues plus 4 tournaments and are currently negotiating a partnership which will bring another two leagues into existence. They have 3 web sites and over two years have used 5 forums with members posts totalling 17.644.
ALL the above mentioned Leagues are excellent, well operated, and highly competitive.
Like Tim's Dodgers Italian Series, the AFF Leagues will be posting recruiting posts shortly.
Really want to participate in a league, then signup when the posts are made.
Football is currently alive, and all things considered, well. All these leagues have survived and will survive because Smallball members who really want to participate, find their way there and join.
Agree or disagree with me, does not really concern me. I have said what I want to say and the bottom line is that YOU ALL hold the future of Smallball Football in your hands. Participate and it will grow. Ignore it and it will surely die.
Hope to see you all on the Italian, English, Irish or Scottish Fields of Battle real soon.
John

The #1 problem i had with the SBFB was the lack of game enhancements and add-ons. And at times gameplay seemed so unreal. (lob passes really began to bother me, esp. when an open lane to drive).
Game itself is easily trained by anybody, whether a footie fan or not, but $20 to many seem the major factor deterring them from competing in the leagues.
I also discovered a similar game (PM FOR URL) that only takes a fraction of the time to train, and has a few different options that occur seasonly.
1 thing i'd change (and in Baseball) would be a season long CUP. Every team above a * gets entered, all random who you play. And it ends last day of season. Game is auto played. 1 game a day MAX for any side. Winner gets a Cup on Home page with # on for the season they triumphed. Not all can win PL1, but a non-PL1 team has a chance with this. _________________ "Chairman Mao has never seen a greater show of red strength." Bill Shankly

I don't even get any credit for pioneering the FB leagues.. (anyone remember the FA league?? .. and not to mention I started the Italian Series )
But yes, Tim does get tons of credit for running the league with me and even after I was gone. But I'm training again and hope to help him out more with ITA.
All of you guys with good football teams.. join leagues! It makes the game 30x more fun and you make great friendships and rivalries. |

Sorry to hear that pizzaguy because I remember you being very reliable in D2 when I commished.
Still though you other guys have teams and want a tough league to play in. The SCL Footy is going to become the greatest league ever. (IMHO) |
