I have always looked up to these two teams, one of which I'm playing now.

900 (DAS)
and
The Chicage Mob

What are your "mentor" teams?

Well.. I suppose it'll be The Illiad Very Happy.. Maybe because I get Greek history in school and I know all the names..

O, and there pretty good, too..

Portside Percipasitist ID: 3332

a while back they were dominating every single team they played, they were 8* and were slaughtering other 8* and even 9* teams. I played them with my best team at the time and lost 20-0. They are good.

They're 10*
They're semi-easy to beat if you have a decent team (pretty easy way to raise your team'r HR)

So people can say "I beat the Iliad"

lol

I hope I can say one day: "I beat 1.61/Balt Orioles/Miss St ~XsT~"

They're a real good team..

O yeah, my first game vs. The Illiad I lost with 118-0 Rolling Eyes

I have many

first off when I first came I've always Loved the team

Raincity Objectivists - 90389

At the time, I even considered this being one of the best teams in smallball, but under sol's ownership, he could never give that to them Surprised

jk sol, you tha man!

Another was.....

Passive Aggressve - 5773

Not only did the team scare me, but also the OWNER!

hmmm....anymore I've forgotten?

I would have to say there is a tie for 3rd

2 great owners, 2 great teams! Majik and 2cool with......

All Time Greats - 102336

Dominant team, did great before Majik took a break, now he is rebuilding sort of speak........but WOW did this team have power!

Mayberry Bijou Sluggers - 29125

I talked with 2cool before he ever went to XsT and I would watch his team beat mine every time I ended up playing him, NO different this season Wink................then he went to the dark side

I have 2 teams i mainly look up to...

134628 Finding NELMO (AcA)
http://www.smallball.com/go/on.ball.team?tid=102208

Awesome Righty team, before Nelmo sabbed them ...they would win live tournaments with ez...

They reached pl 1 in the Lefty domination ERA & did well...

&

83934 DarkElf's Destroyers
http://www.smallball.com/go/on.ball.team?tid=64300

Most PL 1 Badges by one team in Smallball History...

DE was very dangerous when he was Active & when i was DTSL, he was very Cool to talk to.

I personally look up to 956 when they were named the Gangsters of the 1920's, they were good although no one knows who the owner is Rolling Eyes . I wish i could find him and bring that team back to the glory it once had!

Way back when, I certainly looked up to The Minnesota Twins, 4586. Now THAT was a championship team. Rye's Crew was certainly up there also.

But the first team I ever really looked up to was Conan's Barbarians. That was an amazing team, and could play ball with the best of em.

I look up to any 9* or 10* team that doesn't have a DT badge or a long list of stadium badges attached to their team! You learn more when you do it the hard way and win the hard way. Anybody know how it feels to take your 9* ST team with only 2 or 3 lefties on it to a high active 9* or maybe even 10* DT team with almost all lefty players and Brickyard or any other lefty stadium as their home and out hit them 17 - 9 and win by 5 runs. Razz .....thats what I look up to! Surprised

I look up to the Corleone Crime family.

http://www.smallball.com/go/on.ball.team?tid=36555

I don't know why, but when I started 2 years ago I always played them for some reason. Only then my teams were only 3*.

I didn't really understand much about the game and why the were beating me so bad.

Good Job GW!

BtVS #11507

and as much as I hate to agree with Chippy;

Conan the Barbarian

Maybe they were more like rivals. I am not sure I looked up to anyone, because back then, I just figured if they were that much better than me, then they were cheating, and they usually were ,,,, especially Chippy

BtVS was more of a rival for me, really. A rival that was much better then me. The same could be said of Rowdo's Twins, I guess. But Conan's guys were what I aspired to make my team become.

As for the ID, I really don't remember. That was a LONG time ago.

I still cheat, btw. Embarassed

Way back when, I looked up to Neener Beaners. They were on top when I first started. Then Passive Aggressive when they were going through their unbeatable stage. Then DarkElf's Destroyers. Since then, there really hasn't been a team I've really watched at all.

Along the way, there have been teams that, while not really looking up to, I've really paid attention to. Namely Horrortalk Monster 91851....my team grew up with them, in a way. And Psychos 120120...they were tough. A few others, too.

My biggest Rival's/Team's I look up to are:

The Chicago Mob (MarketWizard)
All Three of Smith's PL1 Teams. (1.61, Balco Experiments, Mcdoops)

I haven't been able to throw them as many games as I used to, but when I can play Smith in a tourney I feel as if I accomplished something IF I beat him. (That's a HUGE if. Wink )

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.

There was a team called "Natures Mistakes" ID is 22862. Long since dead, but this was the first team I really ever looked up too, back when I first started playing.. wish I knew who owned them.

Wow, thats a hard one since I have been here a while but I'll start with the first ones...........Minnesota Twins- 4856, Passive Aggressive-5773, The Country Bumpkins-7351. Three awesome championship teams that dominated in their day.

I have consistently had to be play Das and LCD, and even though I respect the owners and the teams........I dont look up to them.........................in fact I hate them teams Wink

Smittys teams dominate right now..........so I would have to say his.

Actually, I look up to all the teams in 1st and 2nd Pro League. That's rare air up there!!!

The individual team's that I would mention using one hand are:

    Room Temperature
    Neener Beaners
    The whole DAS franchise
    Finding Nelmo
    Kyle's old ST team

All great, great trainers...

You MUST be insane Shocked ...that team was NEVER great, by any stretch of the imagination...LOL! Although the mention is appreciated, they just had a lucky streak for a little period of time, and you happened to catch their wrath... Laughing

Dominant team, did great before Majik took a break, now he is rebuilding sort of speak........but WOW did this team have power!

Wow! Thanks, Mikes... I don't feel they were (and especially now aren't) worthy of being listed within 3 posts of this post... Laughing ...(although going back to old training habits may at least put me back to more competitive again).

It's funny... I saw this post and instantly thought of your 92226 team as well as Psycho's 120120 team... lots of fun watching the three teams fighting it out season after season, moving up the PLs.

Other main teams I looked up to when I first got here and figured out how to look up to another team would be 19301, some Bean team Wink I still follow them every season like I follow the Angels Very Happy... as well as any team with BTB as the team letters.

One day he opened his eyes, looked around and said "What the heck am I doing?"....stood up and walked away from the computer.

i have to agree with pizzaguy. i look up to ne team that is better than mine. but there are sum teams i could never have respect for simply because the owners have bad sportsminship.
