Rules

Sign up now to reserve a spot, but you must be in the Chatroom by 8:35 or your spot will be filled.
Timeshift will be allowed, but you must ask your opponent first.
YOU will be responsible for checking the game IDs, and scores. If the wrong score is reported it is your responsibility to tell me.

You may post your team here and reserve a spot but any owner not in the chat by 8:35pm EST will forfeit his spot, and have to re-sign up.

I also made one typo. The tourney is going to be in the format of 16 team single elimination, not 8 team double elimination.

How to.... Participate in a live Tournament.

Well first thing you need to make sure is that you are accepted into the Official Smallball Chatroom. There's a post in the Dugout to post your name if you applied for a membership and a link at top if you need to know where to apply.

Now once you get in the chatroom, you will have to whisper me (double click my name for a private message) in the chat with the team you want to enter. Once I get 16 teams signed up for the tournament I will make a bracket using www.bracketmaker.com . I will post a link in the chat for everyone to see. Teams on the top of the matchups will initiate the game. Now you should know how to start a game. You simply just enter the ID of the team that you have to initiate against in the first round, and then whisper the game ID number to the other owner.

This process continues until all but 1 team has lost (Like March Madness).

Note: You must keep the chat window open at all times, and if you have to leave you need to assign a "representative" for your team. Now if you end up on the bottom of a match-up you only need to wait for the other team to initiate against your team, and then whisper you the game ID so you can watch.

The tourney as a whole should take about 2 and a half hours, so only join the tournament if you know you can be in the chatroom for that long. You also have the option of using a program called Timeshift (If you aren't sure you know what this is just do a forum "search" for the word Timeshift, and you should be all set). This program allows you to see the results of a game faster, but you will still need to wait until the game plays out in real time to initiate your next round game.

If you still don't understand completely how a live tournament runs I encourage you to sign up for the tournament with your team ID (ONLY IF YOU KNOW YOU CAN BE THERE ON TUESDAY) and then once you are accepted into the chatroom, we can help you understand more.

Hopefully this will help anyone curious about Live tournaments, and encourage them to try them out. Wink

We have six spots reserved for the tourney, but I encourage everyone to still go to the chat on Tuesday if you want in the tourney because chances are someone .:evileyes:. will not show up with a reserved spot. Wink

With that we have 16 Total teams. I hope to see everyone there on Tuesday, but I am starting a reserve list for anyone that wants the spots not taken (this would happen if perchance one of these nice people did not show up).
