Well, let's be sure we have the syntax correct here... Wink

Could I? Yes. I happen to have one that I wrote up about 5 months ago that is pretty much planned out with a mixture of about 8 different events, intended to test a variety of different areas of ability, performance, coordination and training styles. It's a "Clanlympics" concept.

Would I? No. I stopped running tournaments that do the community building work for the game about 2 months ago. The only exception to this was my participation in the SB Festival by running a couple tourneys from my past life as a tourney organizer.

Does this leave me open to the criticism of "Well, if you're not willing to do it, then don't criticize someone who is willing to try..."? Sure it does. And I'll be the first to point out that hey, kudos for trying, and I'm not beating anyone down for wanting to try. Just referring someone to the feedback that I previously provided. I feel that if something like this isn't organized, clearly stated, and generally run smoothly it leaves the community and those that get involved disappointed and less willing to jump at the "next" one that gives it a shot, even if that next one does make an effort to get all the ducks in a row to a degree before posting.

I will tell you why I have no interest in these 'clan battles' that are being posted lately. This one has no information on what it is. Is it a tournament, UL, spelling bee, I don't know. The last one was a tournament, that sounded OK, but I still don't understand how it was a clan competition.

Take a look at this post for a well thought out clan competition:
http://www.forums.smallball.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=43739

I think there would be plenty of interest in a well thought out competition that was clan based, not just a tourney where the winner's clan is the best.

in my post before i was actually going to wait for people to elaborate and make it better and organized depending on what they wanted it to be like.

i appreciate your comments, kindred, because then i wouldn't have postponed it to think it out more.

Yes i think that GCool and i did rush to start a clan wars lots of things could have been done better timing, explaination, format, etc, etc. But the of the matter i think if we put alittle more time into this, then
yes i think we could pull off a great clan wars until then the idea is too premature.

Thats my two cents after thinking this over clearly.
