I would like to provide a community team icon ticket or something to that effect for community teams. I'd like to ask you, the community, what you think and if you have any ideas about it.

Happy New season!!!

Do you mean a badge on the team notifying us taht its a comm. team?

or like where you can put the ticket on the team,

and every 12 players would have there OWN password, and only have 1 person to train in there trainer, not the whole 12!!! that would be awesome!!!!!!! except for the fact we could barely NEVER skill train

BTW if that is NOT what you meant, THAT would be awsome to add AFTER the skill cage is put in, so nobody would waste anyone elses pie

then on the managers, he has a little clipboard tell him all the palyers TP to see who goes over or not, so he can boot at will Wink

I like the idea! How about a couple of smallball players in a huddle, or players shaking hands?

As far as what it should look like, I'm no good with that stuff. You guys have done well with all the other badges, so I'll just trust your judgement there. Wink

For "Real" community teams - I think it would be great for them to show their 'Team work" and joint attetntion to this great game.

Maybe use the SB guys in the game -- huddled up - making a plan / giving the game real thoughts

Would it be something that can be turned on and off? Because not all community teams stay community teams.

But I like the idea of a community team page. Oh, and also a community team league. That would be great! Surprised

That's a good point, but is it going to be a list of 100 like everything else, or is it going to be a community star league...

I mean it this way... When I click on homerun park, I don't see any team that's not one of the top 100 teams with that park active. The same with all the other parks and things like that...

I think, you should set up a link from the badge that you can click on, link it to a page like the "Leagues" link and have it set up where you can see the top 100 (0r whatever number you choose) of each star rating... that way, the 2 star community teams are represented the same way the other guys are...

Or, delete this whole idea and make the click a status symbol...

It's your choice, seeing you are the commish

Maybe because I'm an adult and most of the people here aren't, I'm the only one that remembers that this is a business... Yes, this is a cool game, and yes you can do it for free, but the small ball mall is not a charity orginization... I rival the asking for this to be free to be the same as begging for tickets somewhere else...

Just a thought, it may be my humble opinion and ousted by the rest of you, but that's my opinion...

I guess I'm not an adult yet, but I can assure you you're not the only one that remembers SB is a business. Wink

And this Community Team badge/league idea sounds really cool!

Ditto. I think it's just that us guys (and gals, too) that have come to this realization are just not as loudmouthed. Wink

Of course, I wouldn't mind if this were free, but if the Commish were to apply a fee I'd understand completely.

Nice Idea. I know it's easy to do. however..

I think C-teams are a lot like Clans they start out with allot of enthusiasm, then the bickering, power struggles, bash posts, etc soon begin.

There are a very, very few owners that can really keep the peace & insure a C-team's longevity.

(Hats off to those few) Wink

One point I see perks like this adding enthusiasm to the game.
Also
I can see this fueling the Community/Clan bone pile to grow more rapidly.

Maybe a wait period, gotta earn it, or qualification thingy...something along the lines

Thanks DAS........... sounds like your talking about us PVT's!! Wink

3 teams strong!!............. but it is hard to keep everyone happy........... and comm teams take a "TEAM" to run good and compete in the PL's.

I personally (and i think PVT) would love the challenge of as many comm teams, as people want to try to create. Its easy to start, harder to orginize and even harder to keep great trainers.

I don't see any reason as to why it should be free. If amongst the 12 owners on your team, you can't come up with a few bucks for the ticket, then you probably won't last as a community team anyway, haha.

I know this is a community team thing but I'm gonna hijack it anyway...

What about a SCL championship badge! Its the only uninterupted league thats been rock solid for over two years and still has close to 200 team participating in the 6 week seasons! Cool

I'm down with the SCL Champ badge too, even though I would never have one. Wink That league deserves one. The only concern is that if he gives one to one league, then it seems he would be flooded with other leagues wanting them as well. I don't know.

As for the SCL badge - I have always liked that idea. It, to my knowledge, is the single largest league in all of SB with nearly 200 teams each season fighting for one common goal. There are other good leagues out there, but none that have this many GOOD teams competing for one prize.

EDIT - here is that banner, made by our talented Mr. Money:

i like both badges but the one for the scl would make commish have to put badges for almost all the leagues or i just got an idea the commish could pick out a league every so often (ex every 2 seasons) and give one badge out for winning

more things

always needing more things

never enough THINGS in the world of smallball

However, one concern I do have, is who would be ALLOWED a badge like that (community badge) woul dit be open for all community teams, or just certian teams that SB happens to see fit

The man raises a good question... How do we know this is a community team? Is there some way to check it?

I guess you're going to have to attempt to trust people...

How many people must cooperate for the team to be a community team? 2? 6? all 12 people...

OR... do we just not care who has the icon?

I'm sure the commish has thought of all this, but have we the people (sounds like the preamble of the Const.)

I don't know, I don't see any reason why someone would want to pass their team off as a community team if it's not. Unless they just wanted the badge, but would that really hurt anyone? Plus if it's somethign you have to pay for I would guess that there'd be less posers.

I don't know, I don't see any reason why someone would want to pass their team off as a community team if it's not. Unless they just wanted the badge, but would that really hurt anyone? Plus if it's somethign you have to pay for I would guess that there'd be less posers.

First, I do think if it was to be paid for there would be less posers, you're correct... Second, I think that it's been atleast 5 years since I heard the word poser...
