I have been at the game since 8/02. I have an 8* team. So obviously I have figured out a few things since I started. But I definitely have a beginner question.

What is wrong with my bat training? My guys make decent bat contact. There aren't a lot of foul balls, but there are a rediculous number of easy pop flies to LF/SS or RF/2B. Everybody on the team contacts the ball at 50% or better in DT. I don't really have any power hitters on the team. I don't really have any way to figure out how the team swing skill is.

Would someone be kind enough to look at a game or two and give me a tip? The team is #125197. I lose a lot of games 1-0 or so. Any of them is pretty typical of what I am talking about. You will see a couple blow outs that I suffered because some a$$hole with a couple power hitters was getting his thrills by pounding me 3 or 4 times a day. So I switched to FOX park. It gave me a little more room to sneak in Texas leagers, but I know it is not a long term solution.

So where is my weakness: power or skill?

PS feel free to test the waters yourself, but I feel that it is only fair to warn you that there is a lot of outfield to cover . . .

if ur players have decent bat skill and contact, with some speed, they should have no problem scoring runs in fox.

What is your contact % for most of the team? Min should be around 80-85%. Power comes with more power batting, bat them at power a little more often to get the power up, get a QT power ticket if you can and that should get you a good start.

Hope this helps!

If you cant homer, get to where you smack the walls and itll lead to pretty good doubles at least. I had 2 homerun hitters with all the rest being solid contact to get on base, Id have my biggest hitter come out fourth to slam in my guys. But to keep from getting so many outs at mid-field, add some power to hit the walls.

I appreciate that input, but maybe I put too much extra information in there. Let me bottom line my question and try again.

What will lead to fewer pop flies and lead to more grounders or line drives (of any distance): better swing skill or higher bat power?

Swing skill will. Power will keep your balls in the air... hence HR's.
