I have a bone to pick with sb. i don't understand how my team dropped from 4 stars for about a week to 3 stars yesterday. I did nothing to change my team except train them. I'm pretty sure training my team doesn't cause me to lose a star. Can someone explain this to me?

Actually it can and does.

For example:

You train all week in Batting and neglect your other skills. They get lower, your batting gets higher but since star ratings are built on overall skill, your team is less skilled now than they were.

This is just an example, you may have trained in something else, but hopefully you get my meaning.

i guess i might have done that but i recall on the day it happened i batted them all, let them rest, and had them field and throw afterwards. Maybe i did bat them too much. thanks for the insight i never thought of that and i'll try to avoid that the next time.

Train once a day for your regulars and twice for the bench. Get the full 1/2 pie for each and you will get better skill gains and eventually be able to work out a training regimen that will allow you to work on all skills and grow your team.

Sorry man, I know I was talking with you and then I had to run take care of some business.

Yes, 2 or 3 times a day is way bad for your team. Most of the good managers here train every day, once a day and with a 1/2 pie (1 days worth). Some train every other day with a full pie (2 days worth). Try to train your teams at the same times and if you use the every other day training schedule try not to go over the 48 hours. It tends to hurt them.

Create a balanced schedule for your players and or team. When they are lower ratings you can train them all the same, but once they get a little higher you might find some need more in one area than another and you can adjust them.

Your players need to be well balanced. You cant just train in 1 or 2 skills, you need to train them all to their potentials. Keep an eye on the forums, they are a good source for tips and help.
