I have noticed Several of my outfielders ducking under a well hit ball. I seems to happen more in the new Fox and Brickyard stadiums when the ball is hit to a point that may have been a HR in the intel park. They grab it on the rebound off the wall, and its a base hit.

I wonder if it is just a lack of training on my part, or is there a glitch in the logic that tells the little guys that they cant stop it from being a HR so get out of the way Question

The little guys know that the ball is going to hit the wall. Since they cannot position themselves under the ball, they get ready to play it on the rebound. It may look like they are ducking, but they are taking the normal fielding position--keeping their glove down.

I have to disagree on that one. Alot of those balls are very catchable. I know it's just a graphical representation, but the ball is well within reach. I have even seen it pass through the player, bounce, and be caught.

These are not showing up the the typical "miss" so the game is not considering them an error on the fielders part.

I have seen plenty of these.
The graphics on that one are really misleading sometimes, however I think it is purely a graphical fluke, much like the one where a LF HR looks more like a foul ball. It could of course be something else, a bug, an error by ur fielder not marked by a "miss", but in this case I'd go with the assumption that it is a graphical fluke and the ball would have been uncatchable.

not as funny as placing two guys at home plate during a DT training session, and watching them slam the ball off each other.. Wink

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the problem with the "getting into fielding position" argument is that when they're ducking, they're facing the infield! Not exactly proper fielding technique... Wink

You mean the time he was at the wall, jumped to try to catch it and it bounced off his head? Not quite ducking in the outfield grass, now is it... Razz
