Tips & Tricks Needed... |
|
|
So our beloved SBFB has opened up today and I know that I, for one, am very confused as to what I see when I open up the trainer. Yes, I understand the game of football/soccer quite well and I checked out Commish's picture of what each of the areas are on the SBFB training field, but I must say more than I am even confused I am wondering where to start.
I know in SBBB the best thing to do is try and find your pitcher right off the bat. In SBFB should we be looking for the goalie first? The strikers? Midfielders? Defense?
Also, I see things like the jump skill category and am wondering if this mostly applies to goalies and if you train in that skill by putting them in net? Another thing I (and others too I am sure) are wondering is which skills so far have appeared to be the most important and which characteristics seemingly define each position (obivously kick power and driving up front, but what else?).
Maybe we could use some help from the guys who have been tediously testing it for the last little while and get some pointers on where to start and maybe get some sort of discussion going like in SBBB about knowing the natural postions of players. The only thing I have been able to gather from the boards so far is that you gotta stay in the 4-4-2 or the 4-3-3 because all that have seemingly tried the other formations have gotten stomped! =)
Anyone familiar with SBFB willing to throw up a quick "Getting Started" guide or a small tutorial on what you should look for in players for each postion? Thanks in advance.

You need to read what has already been posted and familiarize yourself with the trainer and training methods. Don't expect someone to hold your hand through this....learn what you can on your own and then people can help fill in the blanks later. |

Here's a quick blank to fill in if it's not too much: Is it the keeper that we should look for first by training in jump and reaction completely or are there other skills to also help in the search for the ideal goalie? (Is it the goalie that's the first on the list to find anyway?) |

I havent played the game in over a month but I found my goalie first and consider jump and reaction to be 2 important areas when determining this. _________________ "Oderint dum metuant" |

I started with running everyone for a couple pies just like baseball. Then you need to go to dedicated training for interception and reaction. Then train everyone in jump/catch. The guy that has decent running....good reaction, jump and catch will most likely be a keeper. |

Okay, thanks guys. In reply to C_J's post though: you said that you should move from doing some running into interception and reaction then to jump/catch, but I am just wondering if this means that interception is also important in finding the goalie or does interception more apply midfielders and defense for taking the ball away from the opponents?
Thanks again. |

You get the most reaction skills when training for interception in the dedicated mode. All skills are important for stars and....interception is important to keepers, but not overly so. Reaction, Jump and catch in no particular order...IMO |
