Ok guys, this one is for those of you into mmorpg's, well sort of. Anyone ever heard of this game? Redmoon was a Korean mmorpg. In Korea the game had over 500,000 players subscribed. Had about 10K over here. This was right before the 3D games came out. Ultima online was the 1st real popular 2D online mmorpg. This game was SEVERLY addicting tho. For reasons I can't explain. Its basically a hack and slash game. Its got a unique anime them to it tho. And you level on earth and in space. The view perspective is similar to Diablo.

This was the 1st online game that I got addicted to. Played for about 3 1/2 years at the end of the 90's and early 2000's. Towards the end of its life here in America, the server was getting hacked regularly as support dropped way off. And the game died. I moved on to Dark Age of Camelot after that and have tried almost all of the 3D online mmo's. I have liked some, and disliked others, but none over got hold of me like Redmoon did. My son loved it as well. Through the last 5 years or so, we have talked about the game and we regretted not being able to play it any more.

Ok, the whole reason I told that story is, because the game is actually not dead. I have only recently learned (although its not new and has been going on for a few years now) that people have been able to get hold of the server files of mmorpg's and build their own servers, and have them open to the public, and for free. I knew of an Ultima server like that because a friend of mine played on it. And he told me that Star Wars Galaxies is in Beta right now by a group of his buddies, and will open soon. Well I did a search and actually found a Redmoon server. Its called Redmoon Classic and can be found at www.redmoonclassic.com .

The game is exactly as it was before, but it lacks people. There are only on average about 20 people on at a time right now. One thing that made that game great was the people.

So I figured I would post here, I know there has to be some online gamers here, or hopefully. Or if you like the old 2D Diablo like perspective games, set in a Anime theme, then check it out. I could go on and on about the game but this thread is long enough. If you go to the link above, there are links there which can give you a background of the game and lots of info on it. If anyone has interest, I'd be more than happy to answer any questions. But it is very addicting. And this weekend there is a double experience weekend. Level twice as fast. lol. And its free. The client is about 250 meg. No charges whatsoever. If ya play, look for me or my son. I have a character named Blitzkreeg and my son's is FatherEarth .
