Subject description: Star Rating Accuracy

OK. So I originally posted this on forums.info and noticed that there weren't a lot of current posts so I'm reposted this question here in case it doesn't get read there.

Got a question: How can I figure out the actual star rating of a team? I've noticed that when I'm scouting out teams to play using the team pages the information differs from the info posted on the "Public Games" option. Today I played a team selected from the "Public Games" option. The team's rating is "5* 3 days ago" and "initiated very long time ago". When I checked them out on their team page, they're ranked as "5* 7 days ago". So next I exited out of viewing the game live and returned to view it. When the computer found the game # it showed the team ranked as 4*! What's up with that? I'm trying to stretch my team by playing better teams. I've noticed even greater discrepancies with higher ranked teams. Why is this so confusing...can someone PLEASE clarify this?! Confused Thanx.

Teams lose skill over time and need to be trained to get back what they lost. When they aren't trained they lose skill and their team pages won't update to show what * rating they really are unless they are played or their trainer is opened. If a teams page says that they haven't been trained (the message under their * rating on their team page) in more than a couple days then most likely they aren't the displayed * (unless they are on holiday, sabbatical, or retired).

Thanks for the response. I kinda figured that but I didn't understand why the team page and the "public game" option were different. So is it better to go with what is displayed via the "public game" option?; even though that info had a discrepancy within it's own data. It would be nice to know what level of team is being played without having to intiate a game and tying up time. Guess I'll just have to take my chances and see. Thanx

If you are trying to stretch your team, play only teams that have been trained "today." Teams can lose a star level pretty quickly until they reach 8*.

As long as in the "public game" it says 'today' next to the star rating, you should be fine. If you truly want to test your teams ability, go to the star league page (top 100 teams) of the star level that is higher than you.. be sure to click the team page of the team and make sure they have been trained recently still though (just one click to check that Wink)
