This fall, the 43-year-old long distance runner will tackle one marathon a day for 50 consecutive days, running a total 1,310 miles in 50 days. And for each 26.2-mile race, Karnazes and his family of four will travel to a different U.S. state. |

no they are pretty far apart in most cases.. By reading that article, im not sure if he is running/walking to each race, or what.. cause thats even harder than just the 28 miles for the marathon each day
edit:: 26.2 miles in a marathon  _________________

I read he'll be competing in a few real marathons and then recreating other ones in the states that there's not ones happening.
It'll be quite a feat if he can pull it off... _________________ "I can resist anything except temptation" - Oscar Wilde |

what I meant by "real" marathons was that they were actual competitive marathons (like NYC marathon etc).. not sure how the others went _________________

My girlfriend ran the Green Bay marathon recreation with him. About 40 other people did it along with them. For the races that are recreated they get a moving police escort all 26.2 miles. It was pretty fun to see them race.
Seeing the guy up close was amazing. He probably had as toned of legs as a human being could ever have. The Green Bay marathon was stop 38 out of 50, and he wasn't even out of breath by the finish. They ran it in just over 4 hours. It was also his son's ninth birthday. The kid ran the final nine miles with his dad to the finish!
You can read more about it here: http://www.endurance50.com
You can see them here running around Lambeau Field

Today was unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable. Hundreds of runners, all ages, all abilities, all filled with incredible nonstop energy. We told stories, laughed, high-fived, hugged, wept, and basically celebrated an incredible moment for us all. The collective spirit between the group was totally monumental.
The biggest bummer for me was that I was ushered away so quickly. I only wish that I could have stayed at the finish for hours, not precious few minutes, but my crew had to get me to NYC as soon as they could. I wanted to savor this day, to treat myself to a long afternoon surrounded by terrific people, reminiscing about the adventures over the past forty-nine day, and dreaming about the future. Instead, the splendor of it all was compressed into one beautiful diamond of a memory, something small and compact, but worth cherishing for a lifetime.
New York City, here we come,
