Question to all... |
|
|
I'm curious why people are not jumping to join leagues and new leagues for Smallball.
This community is dieing (has been for a while) and the only keeping it alive are the forums and other leagues where people can communicate.
There are leagues out there that need/needed people and nobody wanted to be apart of it.
chs' honkerburger showdown was almost shut down for a season, SCL cant get any new members, Smallball NFL struggled filling holes for a bit, SBCF cant get any new members, any other leagues out there, sorry I forgot ya.
My question is this...
Why aren't people joining these leagues? Too lazy? Pro Leagues are enough for them? I really want to hear why.
Now i understand people are leaving, and the sport is dieing, but for people that are still here, why not? _________________ SBCF Admin

some teams out there are very good and you face them in every comp. that makes it tougher and i dont mind that, but others might, i find it hard to get on and do all the things i want, let alone join new leagues
but some people may comeback to them _________________ BB . 55229 . 130295 . 13611 . 8358 . 856 (SBD Community)

Honestly I have moved on to another game that has tech support, customer service and what not. I've let my kids basically go. I train half heartedly when I do train. there is some meathead I think he owns Small Giants? I dunno I think thats the team name anyway he keeps playing my team over and over. lol Keep going buddy you're getting the easiest wins you'll ever get over a 9* team. They are dieing and only being halfheartledly trained. Padding his 8* lol _________________ Don't let the chain of love end with you.

Lack of time, life demands way too much time.
I train on a range of 24-96 hour pies currently, sometimes as much as 120 hours or more. _________________ XsT | TA# 1.1 | -.- | XXI | $2856.82 (10/27)

When I first began playing SmallBall (May) I couldn't wait to get to 7* and the like to join UL's. I eventually got my team into about 6 different UL's, which became too much for me.
From that point on I have preferred to more closely monitor and train my teams rather than playing games with them.

well, chspogo's league is the only one that has a UL.
To find his, plus any other leagues go to the tournaments section, and look under baseball. _________________ SBCF Admin

AndNow and Commissioners failure to do anything for the game (As mitype mentioned "No support for the game"). Many many many other games that give something back to their community. At first, it was great to see the community keeping the game alive. Now I think it's a shame we had to do it. Boo hiss to SmallBall and it will continue to go downhill. Even if they did start providing support now, it'd be too late. I'd love to take a look at their P & L statement for the profits in this game. Honestly they gave up on us and we will give up on them. I love the community but this game is too time consuming and no longer carries the excitement and fun that it used to. Retirement of personal teams is very near but my addiction to the game will remain through a couple Shared/CT Teams. I hate to lose touch with good friends so it's the only thing still keeping me around.
I think the biggest problem is that there are too many tournaments and no one (or should I say very very few people) interested anymore. Again we have AndNow to thank for that. To me the ship is sunk and I've lost all interest in supporting anything that has their name on it. I will however convert to GW's new forum to keep the friends I've made here. I know you guys are going to love it and he and Chexx have been working very hard to make it the best it can be. I will remain with a couple teams to train for fun but out with the old and in with the new. The game I play now I love and they give a *#@! about their customers. Which is more than this company can say. Thanks for giving up on the game AndNow, I can LMAO at you for not doing your jobs and just shake my head at why you'd let it burn to the ground. The only company in history I know that could care less about making money. All it would have taken was a few words of encouragement to keep it alive. But I guess that was just too much to ask _________________

I basically agree with Rooster. Still, I do play the tourneys. I just finished participating in two of them. A couple of things that have kept me from participating in other tourneys were lack of clear instructions on the part of the organizers and no prizes. Even a nominal prize, like a stadium, gives you an incentive, you want to win something. But mostly, it's as Rooster says and it's also the reason I don't buy DT trainers, lefty tickets, stadiums, etc. _________________
