Guess thats a plus...

Just a pity someone cant give us the courtesy of an explanation/update as to where Smallball is going.
We've all spent enough time and money on this game surely its not too much to ask? Confused

Even if it does stay up, what happens when there's a problem with it? Who's around to fix it. GW's gone. I think the only other admin is Commish....think he's gonna come back?

I've seen forums without leadership and it's not pretty.

I'm sure the only reason that the domain was renewed is because someone got an email and didn't want to let it go...but then immediately forgot about it...

I still say RIP SB forums...let them die just like the game will. Sad

Sounds like a Wild West town with no sheriff. A forum with no leadership to control things would have to be real ugly. Maybe the forum should be renamed to Flame City.

I honestly can't say.

Usually auto-renewals are a one year thing, but given the timing, and my lack of Godaddy options, I would say there is a good possibility it was auto-renewed.

We knew this was a possibility guys, BUT with no communication, i did what I had to do.. i could not count on this happening.

I do not regret doing anything that I have in the last month (actually 4 months)

The fact is, there is still no one steering the ship guys. Not at the game, and after today, not at the forums.

Sure the domain will still be here and you guys can go on posting until something goes wrong, but I would think most of you would want a place where you know that all is being taken care of and people are there answering questions.

My position is the same.. nothing will change, expect the fact that now I have a few extra days to finish my project the way i wanted to instead of rushing to get it out today.

I will still be going there and although I realize that most people will probably be staying here now, I hope many of you will still check it out when it's time.

I have poured pretty well every spare minute into this for the last two weeks (yesterday from 3pm to 8am straight alone), and I am VERY proud on how it has come out.

This actually works out well for everyone.

Now I don't have to worry about the Smallball Archives area, and Smallball members can still post their trades, and bugs that will never get looked at, and I can concentrate on my project, be it either existing Smallball members or find new ones.

So yes, the Smallball forums are staying, but I like to think that are are better and newer sites people should try as well Smile

GW, no matter if these forums still exist or not, I will be using your new site. Loyalty plays a big part of how I judge people. You have been loyal to us when the commish and his group of bandits have not. I respect that. I have gotten a lot of enjoyment from smallball baseball and soccer but if it all ended tomorrow I would just move on. I'm looking forward to what you have to offer us.

Good to see you around Hilly. Wink

Although I am still highly anticipating GW's new forums, I'm glad this will still be here as well.

These forums have changed a lot in the past few months and the quality of posts has dropped immensely in the last week. A cloud over a forum is a bad thing, so, when GW is ready, here I go!!

Same here... I hate to say it, but with no one around to fix any problems that pop up, these forums may not last a year, let alone two.

I am pretty clueless when it comes to all this internet stuff and who does what and why... But could someone be waiting in the wings to come in and run things once there is a change over?

Don't you think someone is watching what is going on? With the few problems in footy that have been fixed and someone tinkering with the start of the new season someone out there is at least checking in periodically. And with the forums being renewed, doesn't there have to be someone who is at least monitoring what is going on here?

As long as people continue to spend money, someone will be watching. You never kill a cash cow, especially one that is so cheap to run.

There has already been a change over, of sorts. GW is no longer running the forums so I believe the Commish is the only one that is "running" the show (as I think he's the only other with Admin privleges). So if there is a new guy in power, he can't do anything about these forums, unless there was a change in power upstairs.

Regarding the game itself, there seems to be some evidence that someone is tweaking the game. But it's only weak evidence. I don't think SmallBall is going away, but it is on life support in a sense.
