Is it possible for skill loss after a day to offset the training gains on the previous day?
Thanks!

I'm not sure if I understand your question. I'm going to assume you train on a 24-hour schedule. If you're asking if the skill gains that you recieve from yesterday's training could be erased by skill loss by the time you train 24 hours later, then I would say no. Otherwise, it'd be impossible to gain any appreciable skill.

Your players lose some skill as the day goes on, but they don't "forget" everything the learned. Does this answer your question?

To add, it sure seems like certain players at least come close to it. Like that 1 guy you can't get off the bottom of the sort list in a certain skill, no matter how much you train him in it. Could be that his ceiling is just so low that he just can't go any higher though. Not sure.

The answer to your question is an absolute YES. It is possible for you to be unable to train enough in a day to overcome the skill loss, even if you train on a 24 hour schedule. (which I heartily suggest you do, do not train on a 48 hour schedule if you want to progress). This applies player by player and for the entire team. I often have days where my total gains for the day are not enough to overcome my skill loss.

This is especially true when you reach 9*. This is why your bench is so important. There will be very few players who can be on the field day after day and maintain their skill level. Most will deteriorate by a small amount every day (depending on your training schedule).

This is why it is of the utmost importance that you manage your bench time well to give your players a chance to "train up".

Also it is important that you get to "know" your players. Some players will burn a skill really quickly and won't add it very quickly, so it is a losing matter to train them extensively in that skill. Other players will make gains like crazy in certain skills! Pay close attention when you train, it will pay off in the long run.

So the best thing is not to play games, unless when I am trying to break into the PL?

I'd say play exhibition games if it's not for breaking into the PL.

Actually, keep your # Big/Pro league games to 3 or fewer per day and you shouldn't see adverse affects.

Of course, this whole idea is subject to great debate!

On the other hand, it's fun to play games and it helps when your new to watch your team play a lot. You get a feel for who does what well.

This skill loss issue is something of a "finer point"...but it's something to consider. If you still haven't qualified for the Pros, don't sweat it too much. PLAY!
