Incompatible local rendering Subject description: ? |
|
|
Can someone tell me what this means? My team, My Favorite Westerns, was just challenged by XST Clan of choice in a PL2 game. I got my notification and went to the game it comes up incompatible local rendering...push ignore to play the game. I push ignore and the game comes up. The Westerns win the game in a normal 9 innings, score:12 to 5. I exit the game and get no box score, go to my team page and it says I won but by a score of 6 to 5. Whats the deal? Has this happened to anyone else? I guess I should be glad it did'nt show me as a loss.game is 9472 if anyone wants to check it out. Crazy man |

It seems like it happened once when I initiated game, and exited out of the game before the players hit the field. I then got that message when I tried to go back into the game (or that may be the "Pending Game" error. I can't remember .) |
Yeah.. I have had the same problem before from exiting an initiated game before the players get a chance to take the field. _________________ www.maddenuniverse.com

This happened to me in the semi finals of a large tournament...
I initiated against Psychos team...got "Incompatible local rendering" message...
pushed ignore.. played game and won...
Psycho watched game and his version said HE WON!!!
got the tourney organiser to view the game and he got same as psycho..
So I was not happy! LOL! _________________

I've gotten that before, and I think I know the *cause* of it, although I'm still not sure why it happens.
There used to be a file full of various numbers that was stored client-side, IE in your SmallBall directory. These numbers were directly related to the "SmallBall World"...one number controlled pitch speed, one controled run speed, one controled gravity, etc. While all these numbers *should* always be the same from person to person, if they were to get changed, even slightly, any game played with those settings would be different from one played with "normal" settings.
I used to mess around with this a bit, back when I was able to. I played a game with some very out of whack settings, and the score ended up being something like 140-110, me winning. When someone else reviewed the game (their settings were normal), they saw a 7-4 victory for me, or something like that.
My theory is that sometimes, for whatever reasons, the numbers get thrown SLIGHTLY off when games get initiated (these numbers are now stored server side, IE you can't edit them anymore), and thus result in these "different games" that you can see. _________________
