I have my goalie trained pretty well in running/reaction and goalie skills.. but does interception play a big part in his performance as well?

Not a big part but it will be useful in certain situations [such as a forward tackling the ball away from a nearby defender, forcing the goalie to settle it with his feet].

Here's a list ordered by importance regarding Keeper Skills:

Goalie Skill
Reaction
Run Speed
Interception
Kick Power (this helps your keeper get the ball to a defender much quicker on goal kicks to avoid the possibility of a steal by a lurking forward)

Not important, not even in the least: Drive, Dribble, Aim

Dan, are you sure Aim doesnt help at all?

wouldnt it be more important to have aim so you goalie can kick the ball to your player rather than have power and not aim which would result in your goalie kicking the ball with power inaccuratly out into the field, possibly to the other team?

Well, I may be wrong with this, but I really don't think that the direction of the pass is effected by Aim skill [when there is a set play like a kick-off, Penalty Kick or Goal Kick].

It's kind of like an already automated situation with the ball only being able to follow the one 'set line' or path. Power then would effect it in determining how quickly the ball will follow it's path.

Again, I could be wrong, but from what I've seen I don't think Aim effects keepers. [And with 10 teams I've seen a ton, lol]

Select your two top-skilled goalies and compare their Reaction and Run skills, the one with the better combined skill should be your starter. Train your backup in the skills he is behind in and interchange them when necessary and you should be pretty well off.

your two goalies are the ones with the best goalie skill, reaction skill is secondary to goalie skill. unless your #1 goalie sux at reaction and run he should be your starter.

i was also under the impression that aim is important for all since it's used in passing as well as shooting. for GKs it's down the list of priorities;

goalie
reaction
run
intercept
kick power
*kick aim*
