Random 700 teams Subject description: How we will decide team ID# for the 700 team series |
|
|
We now have a list of Team ID#s 700-799
Here is how we will determine YOUR team's ID if you should order one:
Each order that comes in, the total the number of teams left will be established. Each time a team is sold (or put aside for posterity) this number will decrement.
The next step will be to go to this random number generator:
http://random.org/nform.html
We will fill out this form to generate genuine random numbers to calculate the next team to be sold:
- Generate random integers (1).
- Smallest value (1).
- Largest value (Total number of teams).
When we get this number we will use it to count down the list of remaining 700 teams. What ever team that is, will be sent out.
In other words there is no way for you or us to predict what team you will get.

You kind of confused me on the random generator thing but I do know that 700 teams are coming out and I'm going to buy one so that's good... What I mean GREAT news. Thanks for the update. _________________ PickYourPony

How do you figure? 90$ is do-able I guess. I mean, it comes with stadiums and stuff, correct? _________________

Correct, I would say $100 since it comes with every ticket that you can think of plus the two new elemental stadiums, the whole explaination is in the smallball community times, go to the September issue. _________________

Just a thought, Commish:
Some ppl appear to have their heart set on a specific number, so
why not make them happy and at the same time make more income. Pick a $ amount or a required number of other ticket purchases that someone would have to make to get a cetain #team. It's open for 2,4 or more weeks, then go random #'s. |

So you will generate a number, say 36, and count done to the 36th team that hasn't been sold yet (736.) Then sell it, and cross it of the list.
Next order: You generate 57. Since 736 is gone, you count down and sell the 57th team (758.) Then sell it, and cross it off the list. So on, and so on...
Wouldn't it be easier to generate a random list of the the 99 total teams before you start selling, and cross them off as you sell them?

NOOO.. then all we'll have is a bidding war.. highest bidder gets whatever they want.. thats not fair to other people that are going to be pressed to pay the zillion bucks in the first place.. remember no matter how much YOU'RE willing to offer.. someone else is willing to go higher..

Well the people who don't want to fork out extra money can just get a random number as they would anyways. It's not like you'd have a chance to choose in the first place. If people are willing to fork out extra money for the number they desire then who's to say they can't? It's not giving them an advantage anyways. |

Imagine how much money Commish could make if he auctioned off team id's 3-10 on eBay now. Im sure a lot of people would shell out some serious cash for a single digit ID.
whats the point in waiting a few years? i'd just do it now, while the next highest IDs are in the 700's. _________________
