The only thing that will be falling when the Steelers and Jets play today will be Pennington in the grasp of Bell, Farrior, Smith and Porter. Oh, that and the morale of the Jets fans as the Steelers score at will and beat the Jets like an old, fly bitten nag.

Steelers will beat the Jets and then take on whoever is left and prove that even though he is a rookie, Big Ben is the best quarterback to come along in a long, long time.

Peace

Best quarterback to come??? Yea, really impressive when he has the 28th ranked passing crew in the NFL Rolling Eyes

Pittsburgh have never really had a top passing attack. I always find passing is more impressive for highlight films, but i'm a HUGE fan of dominating the clock, rushing the ball with players like Bettis and Staley that enjoy being hit.
And, then the D. Year after year they lose players to FA, and they still turn out a top ranked defence.

I've got the Surround sound on, the audio commentary turned down, and game sound up........can't wait to hear those pads hitting.

GOt only one thing to say about this win, We are going on and the 'Lucky' Jets are going home.

Yeah, they took us to overtime but come on, the Jets didnt score on offense and lilke I said, the only reason they almost beat us is that we almost gave them the game. THe punt return they earned, after that, the luck just ran out.

That was our bad game, I have a feeling that next week, either the Colts or the Pats are gonna see a totally different Steeler team, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

Peace

Right, and the "Lucky" Jets had a field goal hit the goalpost that would have won the game Rolling Eyes

After 3 road overtime games in a row..........and missing a game winning field goal with no time left...............I would say LUCK has nothing to do with them reaching that point........experience does.

The rookie QB on Pitt. is a great player but he hadnt been in a playoff game and it showed.

BTW ....................missed 2 field goals in a row for the win.........The lucky team was Pitt. and whoever they play will KILL them. Plus I won money with the ponit spread..............hehe

I will say it was a good game, Steelers lucky? or the Jets kicker was off or out and out sucks? Luck or a poor performance by the kicker? Guess the Jets were lucky last week and their abilities had nothing to do with them winning then right?

If it was luck, then they had no business being there today and got what they deservered from some of the replies above since it was luck when you win in overtime and the game is down to the wire. I disagree and think they did a heck of a job last week and this week, it wasn't luck that they lost today and won last week either.

Steelers were out played and didn't deserve the win? I would argue that, that was a well played game by both teams, maybe not any great individual performances, but as teams, they both played and gave it everything.

Just looked over the game stats on Fox, complete box scores here: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=20050115023 and I would not agree that they didn't deserve the win or that they deservered a loss. I won't say that the Jets deservered a loss either. As total team stats shows the Jets were outplayed and Steelers did their normal routine and dominated the clock again.

I said the team I didn't want to see the Steelers play in the first game of the playoffs was the Jets after the game was over and they won in the regular season, both teams are pretty even overall and I don't think that there could have been a better matchup.

Steelers won, and yes I am partial, and they did what they were suppossed to do and that was win the game. My hat's off to both teams, and GO STEELERS!!! Laughing

Congratz to Pittsburgh.

"Better to be lucky than good"

But both teams played extremely great today.

No point in pointing fingers anymore on our side, it's history.

Great job by Pitt to protect their house and I wish them luck in their next TwO games.

(Notice how I said two Wink)

If I had to pick, I'm gunning for Pitt now so 'Go Get em'.

Was a tough game to watch being a Steelers fan. Jets played well for the first half. Looked like they relaxed 2nd half, and seemed Pittsburgh could move the ball at ease.

All in all, the only thing that matters is the score when time runs out, or who scores first in OT.

On a side note, i feel sorry for all the St. Louis Rams fans out there, they were simply thrashed. And i don't rate Atlanta that highly either Confused

Boy you sure dodged a bullet yesterday! Big Ben did his best to lose that game. I'm glad I didn't have to sweat it like that in our game. Wink

I actually like the fact that we get very little respect. It makes winning even more fun.

Go Vikings! (will give us a home game for the NFC Championship)

Well the bullet was dodged alright! The first miss I could understand, the second I believe he was trying to hard to make the distance rather than being accurate.

Minn didn't do it and that crushed my son, I think he really thought they would win, he Wink has a lot to learn yet

Only thing bugging me still... (Besides the fact that they lost, but it's history anyway)

I called 2 INT's by Ben, fumble by the Bus, and a game winning FG by Brien.

Fell 1/3 short though. Mad
