Football Freezing when initiating? |
|
|
For those of you who are experiencing Football freezing when you initiate games while training works fine then read this.
I myself experienced this bug and got it fixed and this is how:
Firstly, if you are experiencing this bug I'm sure you must have Windows 9x installed and be using Sun Java 1.18 (Bundled with the Smallball Java package) To fix it, simply install Sun Java 1.31 here:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/download.html
You may notice performance issues, especially on a lower spec machine, but thats what happens under 1.31.
Or you can use the Microsoft Java VM, although i can't vouch for experience using this version.
For those of you using Windows 2000 or above Sun 1.18 is fine to use, infact i recomend it, it is the best performing VM to run Football with.
If you need any other help regarding Java feel free to ask, |

About the time the little guys are supposed to run out on to the field, but never do. The text box will pop up saying the error. |

LOL, thats just what i said not to do. The smallball with Java is VM 1.18. (Being the version that fails to run under Windows 9x)
Uninstall smallball, install Sun Java 1.31 (if you havent already)
NOW, go and download the tiny smallball download, the one WITHOUT java bundled in. Then football will run fine my friend. |

| Craigmer, yes uninstall smallball althogether, then make sure Sun Java 1.31 is installed. Then reinstall smallball using the LITE package NOT the one bundled with Java. Run it, subscribe and everything should work. |
