April 11th, 2006 was his last post on the SmallBall forums. I am not sure of any other Commish spottings between now and then.

Okay instead trying to find commish we should try and save smallball i think we should research how to creat our own version of smallball of course we will have to call it something else and instead of having a commish we should a group of leaders all with equal power this might take a little time but it can be done it will also cause for a lot of funding but i am sure with the money we all spend at smallballmall we could get done anybody wit me

There's not much you can do...Recommendations:

1) Don't buy anything SB related from now on unless you are a) willing to take a chance on not getting it and b) only using it for short term enjoyment and entertainment of your own, because nothing will have any investment or resale value and may not even exist in the future as something that is even functional.

2) If you have paid for something via Paypal, and have not received it yet, ensure you have checked your junkmail folders, and then file a complaint with Paypal as soon as possible. Don't get stuck like Money did, I feel bad for him.

3) If you are not getting responses to your customer service/purchase/technical issues, your other option is to file a complaint with the BBB. At this point it is well earned by Smallball.

Other than that, accept it for what it is, have fun while you can if you want, but realize that the chances are high that this will up and be dead some time in the not so distant future. At least that's my take on it.

Well, it was bound to happen someday. As far as I can see Football's done. It was a failure from the start to Commish and if he is a true businessman (which based on the state of the Baseball Mall, I can see he is) he wouldn't care about the few guys like Steel Dog and Barbarian who made the game great by doing all the things that he neglected to bother with. I'm almost positive that football is down for a reason and that Commish is gone because he doesn't want to have to look at guys like me and John and Bobby and say to them "sorry, but your fun is over".

You see baseball doesnt work on my comp no matter what I've tried, same with AVG. We found some hope in this game because John (Barb) was running some of the best leagues I've seen in any online game. AFF football leagues were one in their own, and no matter what anybody told us, we were a community and we were there for each other even if the game didnt live up to what people thought it would. Commish is gone because he doesnt want to have to face our community and spit in our faces after we paid him the money to play his game. Unless I'm seriously mistaken (which I really hope I am), footballs done with. Thanks for the ride guys.. it was fun

Two of my favorite songs that sum up this situation rather well (worst case scenario that is). I cut the first one short due to some...uh...Suggestive language, shall we say.

THE DOORS lyrics - "The End"

Quote:
This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes...again

Can you picture what will be
So limitless and free
Desperately in need...of some...stranger's hand
In a...desperate land

Lost in a Roman...wilderness of pain
And all the children are insane
All the children are insane
Waiting for the summer rain, yeah

There's danger on the edge of town
Ride the King's highway, baby
Weird scenes inside the gold mine
Ride the highway west, baby

Ride the snake, ride the snake
To the lake, the ancient lake, baby
The snake is long, seven miles
Ride the snake...he's old, and his skin is cold

The west is the best
The west is the best
Get here, and we'll do the rest

The blue bus is callin' us
The blue bus is callin' us
Driver, where you taken' us

Linkin Park
In The End

Quote:
It starts with one thing
I don't know why
It doesn't even matter how hard you try keep that in mind
I designed this rhyme
To explain in due time
All I know
Time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
The clock ticks life away
It's so unreal
Didn't look out below
Watch the time go right out the window
Trying to hold on, but didn't even know
Wasted it all just to watch you go
I kept everything inside and even though I tried, it all fell apart
What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time when

I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn't even matter

One thing, I don't know why
It doesn’t even matter how hard you try, keep that in mind
I designed this rhyme, to explain in due time
I tried so hard
In spite of the way you were mocking me
Acting like I was part of your property
Remembering all the times you fought with me
I'm surprised it got so (far)
Things aren't the way they were before
You wouldn't even recognize me anymore
Not that you knew me back then
But it all comes back to me (in the end)
You kept everything inside and even though I tried, it all fell apart
What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time when I

Chorus

I’ve put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
And for all this
There's only one thing you should know (2x) Chorus

He was on for a little while yesterday.

I know he has "talked" to at least one member of the community lately.. however I won't go into that Wink

I know it is none of my business, but if somebody could explain what the commish did that day he was on, that may help a bit.

It sounds as if this is rapidly approaching the end of a dynasty. Have seen this too many times and was one of the leading reasons I had no problem giving this game up. Hardest part was leaving the community, just too many great folks that made this game what it is with their own hard work and long nights put into it. To those people I give my heartfelt thanks for all the great times and chats. Sure hope for all of your sakes including my own (since I do struggle all the time with the thought of starting again) that this works out for everyone. Commish get off the sauce and get back to business!

Because it would be fun to see guys skating on ice? Confused I'd like to see football too, but frisbee (Ultimate Rolling Eyes ) is not a sport so I doubt that it will be considered for making.

Well said. I never played football, but it's still sad to see the plug pulled.

While he was making posts on April 11th, it was a brief appearance. He really hasn't been actively involved since last fall. He doesn't want to face the community, you're absolutely right. He's spineless.

Last I read was Commish was working at Nokia's N-Gage as a senior manager of product development. That's as of spring 2005. I'm sure somebody has a link to a interview posted over there on the forums after he started there.

"Ultimate" is not a sport, therefore can not be adapted for Smallball. Unless it is now a game for activites, in which case tag, capture the flag, and countless others take priority over "Ultimate".

Living in a town of long haired, shoeless, dirty, smelly, hippies, I am exposed to Ultimate every waking moment of my life in some way. I know that it's an activity, not a sport (all the hippies would make a rally to protest what I just said but I stand by it). One of the many reasons I hate hippies.

Yes, ok, I'll admit that that was very sport looking. But hippies don't play like that (and I'm guessing that 95% of people that play are hippies). When you get only people like that (video) to play, I'll accept it as a complete, real sport, until then it shall go under the catagory of hippie sport.

True fact. Mostly dirty hippies around here that play it too.

Today, I have looked inside my neighbors garage, and inside my refrigerator...still no commish Evil or Very Mad

I looked in my shoe. Then my sock. Still no Commish.

He is a good hider. We started playing hide and go seek in April.

Okay I think i got this figured out Commish is currently working on something and has no time for smallball so he probably has someone working on the game but that person doesn't play and probably isnt registered so just comes by and checks if we have any problems and they saw footy was down and fixed it about the change of the seasons end that was my idea

I really hope your not being serious.

im dead serious.

"Ultimate" is not a sport, therefore can not be adapted for Smallball. Unless it is now a game for activites, in which case tag, capture the flag, and countless others take priority over "Ultimate".

how is ultimate not a sport? amd dont give me the, its just a bunch of guys throwing a frisbee around. what the hell is soccer, a bunch of guys kicking a ball, or baseball, a bunch of guys trying to hit a ball. ultimate is just as much a sport as any other sport.

Something that you can do with your dog is not a sport.

My dog's actually a REALLY good outfielder when I play pick-up wiffle ball games with friends. She catches fly balls like a mofo...

...no arm, though.

Woops, sorry bigdog. I should've said "Something that you can do with your dog is not a sport unless bigdog is your dog." Wink
