Lefties Running Backwards |
|
|
Just wondering if there was any reason that lefties run backwards in the DT. Other than to identify them, or because they are stupid. _________________ Cereal Gods The Red Corollas

| I guess because they like to turn the way of their strong side. |

| Both my Lefties and Righties always run forward. Never have seen them run backwards but that would be cool to see. |

LOL...This reminds me of my peeves with Pro sports.
Weenie over paid MLB players pull hammys all the time,& are out for weeks.
Very,VERY rarely in NFL & NBA do you see players out with pulled hammys.
WHY?
Because MLB players never run (or train to run) backwards _________________

My lefties don't run backwards. They just run the opposite direction of the others _________________

Well said, because I've always been told to run backwards reaching as far back with my foot as possible. I've done that in every sport, hockey, basketball, football but never ever in baseball.

running to the right or left on the track.. clockwise or counterclockwise |
Exactly. Right and Left is relative. Assuming you are only paying attention to the top of the track, the clockwise would be to the right. However, at the bottom it is obviously reversed. Clockwise and Counter-Clockwise is the correct way to refer to it.
And no, they do not always run straight. If that were the case they would run off the screen. They have to turn to go around the track...duh!
Backwards though is necessary...you have to put them in reverse if you want to fully train in run! Otherwise, your outfielders will drop a lot of deep balls that they need to backup for. So be sure to set your player to run in reverse prior to training once in a while, and be sure that they are actually stepping backward in the trainer. _________________

Backwards running |

Hey Yaga
Correct me if I'm wrong, but surely you can only SKATE backwards on ice, although running forwards is possible on skates. Anyway I think the Hockey mentioned must have been field hockey.
I believe the coaches always make lefties 'run the gaunlet' through the melee of players coming round the opposite way to toughen them up??
They (the lefties) always seem to run more directly during games so perhaps it does really work.
Of course All-Lefty teams would not know what you were all talking about anyway!
LOL

I think it's all the righties that don't know what they're doing. The lefties run in the same direction of the bases (for optimal practise rounding the bases), while righties just run wherever the hell they damn well please. |

Oh, you are right, good sir!
When I SKATE backwards I usually start on a diagonal line for about 10 feet to gather some speed than can keep at my own pace. (Never pulled my Hamstring). |

That'll be bad, they'll start to turn back the spedometer, and that'll take away run skill _________________ Devastators 514243 9* 10.2 Honor
