Will you be saying "Merry Christmas" or are you a "Happy Holiday" kind of person?

Make your pick, cast your vote, and tell us why you chose the way you did. Yes, I realize not everyone that plays this game lives in America or celebrates this time of the year.. For those people, please for the sake of this argument pretend you did, and pick which saying you WOULD use.

Be bold, be honest, and tell us why you picked the greeting you did.

So, which is it?

As for me, I say Merry Christmas..

Well, I for one do celebrate Christmas and I say "Merry Christmas" even though saying "Merry Christmas" is politically wrong 'cause like you said mlthmp "not everyone that plays this game lives in America or celebrates this time of the year."

Christmas is a time for giving and forgiving.

As a small goodwill and gift for the Smallballer's, I have re-activated the Christmas themes for the forum.

Go to your profile, and under Board Style you can select:

SubXmas is the Christmas theme with falling snow
SubXmas05 is the same as above with no falling snow
SubSilver is the normal theme for those not interested in neither of the above.

btw, I use Merry Christmas

Sweeet, thanks GW, I love this style Very Happy

I usually say "Merry Christmas," unless I know for sure that someone doesn't celebrate it, in which case I'd say "Happy Holidays"

If I know for sure that someone doesn't celebrate Christmas, then......Merry Christmas!

I'm not one for pretending to not celebrate a religious holiday or any beliefs in general just because it offends someone. It offends me for someone to think that I should cater to their feeling. I so wished more people thought this way though. Sorry for the rambling.

I say Merry Christmas! Why? Because I always have. I thought everyone celebrated it until I was close to my teens I guess. I didn't even know about other December holidays until late in my teens.

I don't pretend to not celebrate a holiday. It's more because I don't want all of my "Merry Christmases" to result in conversations like this:

Me: Merry Christmas!
Guy: Thanks, but I'm actually Jewish, and I don't celebrate Christmas.
Me: I know you're Jewish. I'm not sure why I wished you a "Merry Christmas".
Guy: Oh, okay. Well thanks anyways.
Me: You're welcome. Happy holidays!

You know a way to get people to stick to SmallBall?

A free stadium ticket for any true SmallBall fan who doesn't have tickets.

At least the people without tickets will be happy! Like me! Lol!

Me I say Merry Christmas. The main reason is it's part of my religion, as it celebrates Christs birth. I also say it because it's the best day of the year since you get lots of presents. That's one of the main reasons it's my favorite holiday.

BTW I am using the SubXmas border. Thanks GW that just made my holiday. Wink

I played SmallBall for 18 months. At one time, I trained 8 teams daily (2 of which were ST). I trained 4+ for over a year. For those 18 months, I can just about count the number of tickets (not counting DT and stadiums) I used on one hand. I kinda felt there were more evil to my team than anything. If I was to play now, the only tickets I'd use would be Super Rookies (the best tickets for SmallBall by far). I think your team will like you better without using the tickets. Plus, it should feel better to know when you accomplish something, you did it without tickets.

If I still had any tickets, I'd give them away. I can't even remember all of teams' IDs now.

As an agnostic I still say "Merry Christmas" because I still celebrate it for the spirit of the season.

However I have absolutely no problem with "Happy Holidays" either. I can only hope that those of you who do get worked up over this don't or wouldn't do so if anyone were to tell you "Happy Hanukkah".

I use it more than Merry Holidays, although I may go with Merry Holidays this year more, I'll see how it goes.
