October 22 has come - Details what might happen to Smallball.org |
|
|
OK folks...
The day has come.
Who knows what will happen... but to answer one person.
An owner has 75 days to renew their domain
True in some cases.. however Smallball.org is registered through GoDaddy.
Someone has already purchased the backorder on the domain (i have some guess on who) and should Andnow not bother to get the e-mails sent or even come to the site, how will they know it's expired?
AFAIK, GoDaddy will NOT give away a domain right away, because it has to go through certain steps first. HOWEVER, they can redirect any traffic from that site to a page of their own or a 'parked" page.
Simply put, www.smallball.org will work.. but where will it point?
After about 36 days or so, the person who backordered the domain will be allowed to buy it, IF no one from AndNow renews the domain. the problem is.. it will cost upwards of $100-$200 for some places 9unsure if goDdaddy is one of them) to give back the domain after a certain amount of time. It will be up to andNow to pay this penalty should the time come and they notice it expired (probably won't).
My guess is anytime after 2:00PM tomorrow and next Friday, the smallball.org domain will be re-directed by GoDaddy somewhere in hopes the owner see this and realizes what has happened. usually this works, but since no one from Andnows comes here anymore.. who will see it? LOL
Anyways... I will make a seperate post about the new site.. it's all good.. you will all be contacted (provided your e-mail addresses are current) should the site be down and you do not have the new address yet. _________________ 11 time PL1 Champion

The domain is on auto renew and good through 2008.
Edit: Several people, I would guess more then 5 have backordered this and other SB domains. _________________ If books had been invented after the computer, they would have been considered a big breakthrough.

Actually, because it's through GoDaddy, only one person can backorder it.. as goddday has a first come first serve policy.
Anyways...
The domain is renewed, so this post can be locked. _________________ 11 time PL1 Champion |
