Rotate your bench and train everyone in everything save the GK.

If your team is kicking butt, just keep doing what you're doing.
A lot of times you will find your team doesn't play as well as a 9* as
they did as an 8*. I have to go along with BigDog though, rotate players
to the bench to give them more T/P if making 9* is your goal. Train the
players weaknesses too. Use the sort list to find each players weakness.

set up a formula for training, bench train everyday, in a skill for weakness, rotate every fourth day or so, keep training, it takes a long time, yes, you might get there, but if you do, you might not like the results as suggersted above

good luck

Not really sure I would go along with the 'you might not like the way you play at nine stars' advice. Especially since nine of the ten first league teams are nine stars. Shocked

Of course your team will be better at nine stars than eight. You just have to have them positioned correctly.

While I agree that a 9* team should play better than a 8*, it will take a change in TheFly's training schedule to reach 9*. While he can reach 9* it might not translate into more wins. I hung in P/L 1 for 2 seasons as an 8* and managed a 3rd place finish. I guess maybe I'm speaking from my own personal experience. After finishing in 3rd place I changed my training trying to do what TheFly is trying to do.(Reach 9*) I got my butt bounced back to 2nd league. LOL
Anyways, the point I was trying to make was that by changing his training schedule in an attempt to reach 9* he might not have the same success he had as an 8*. But then again, maybe he'll continue kicking butt an win it all an he can come back and give us advice.
Or maybe we can get some of the P/l 1 champions to jump in here with some advice.
I just noticed that Falkirk F.C., season 112 champion and currently number 3 on the top 9* list also got bounced back to P/L2. I don't feel so bad now getting my 8* team bounced. It's tough in P/L1. Shocked

After the six day server layoff I tried to pick up with my same training schedule as an eight star team and lost nearly every match I played, and had two teams drop leagues.

I took the whole next season to train them back up to nine stars, solid. I'm back to my regular training schedule and winning 80-90 precent of my matches now.

I can see how you wouldn't be as good while moving to nine stars, but with a good training schedule and proper positioning a nine star team should beat eight star and lower teams the majority of the time.

Sounds good Tim. Can you pass any tips on to the rest of us poor hacks?
With my current training schedule I hover somewhere near the top of the 8* list and everytime I try to make a push into the 9*'s my team plays terrible. I guess I'm in the same boat with TheFly.

Before the soccer outage back in August, I did manage to get one team to stick on the 9* list for a couple days straight. After it got up and running I haven't been able to reach it and stick. Here's something I read once but can't remember who made the post. The author said he made it to 1st league training in Intercept, Dribble/Drive, and Kick on a 3 day rotation. I did this myself and it does work somewhat. I threw in some running once in a while and trained in weaknesses every so often. It got me to 1st. league where I managed to stick for 2 season's before getting my butt rudely booted back to 2nd. LOL
Hope this helps.

still not a 9* yet

I'm in 1st league and doing well atm, but still can't make it to 9*

I would have to assume it's the goalie. Do you guys train the goalie in everything or just the main skills?

Weakness train, but trust me. 9* is nothing but a warrant to your team's demise. Unless you train them properly at 9*
