what do i do?
enter your predictions for each round in a single post as a response

why?
to win prizes

what kind of prizes?
a full access team from the smallball mall or the equivalent value in QT, holiday, stadium or any other tickets.

when do i need to enter by?
the world cup begins june 9th (germany v. costa rica). all entries should be in before june 8th. any entry with a date stamp of june 8th or later will not be accepted. no exceptions!

how do i enter?
first of all, familiarise yourself with the world cup group stage, which teams play in which group and then predict who will finish in 1st and 2nd place in each group. you do not need to give me game results, points totals or goal difference, just the teams finishing in first and second place.

take those first and second place teams and enter them into the playoff bracket, where WA = winner group A, RG = runner-up group G, etc. then simply predict the outcome of each playoff game. again, winners only. there's no need to add scores, etc.

how is the winner decided?
the contest winner is not the person who predicts the world cup winner, that would be too easy. the winner will be decided as follows;
1 point for each correct team in round of 16 (total: 16pts)
2 points for each correct team in quarter finals (total: 16pts)
3 points for each correct team in semi-finals (total: 12pts)
4 points for each correct team in the final (total: 8pts)
5 points for predicting the 3rd place team (total: 5pts)
6 points for predicting the winner (total: 6pts)

i'm still confused?
that's ok ... at times i confuse myself too. there's an example entry below to make it easier.

what if there's a tie?
we will use the winner of the golden boot as the tie-breaker. i need the name only, no bonus for predicting the correct number of goals.
the golden boot is awarded to the tournaments leading goal scorer.

there was a suggestion to supercede this contest with the fantasy football competition i posted in off topic. if most of you enter the other contest i'll drop this one. the fantasy football is much more user interactive and a lot more enjoyable to partake in.

this is the second time i tried to predict who would win the world cup. When I was in fifth grade they had a contest.. I chose france, they won! I got a duncan yo-yo Cool
